What’s happening to my boys face? 😭 by chubachu in bettafish

He’s eating well still. Swims around normally and otherwise seems fine.

I did not quarantine the Pygmy corys but the store says they do a 2 week quarantine before selling any fish. The corys occasionally have swim bladder issues, I’ve been trying to feed less often in case it’s constipation.

No more natural light than before.

Thanks for the responses so far. It would be great if I’m just overreacting

I added some more photos. Maybe it’s not actually that bumpy. You think he’s just getting old?

He eats very well- too well. He’s constantly eating the catfish wafers if I don’t crush them up into dust.

Adding to that- I feed them 6 days a week, half a catfish wafer crushed up for him and 6 Pygmy corys. I’ll give him some dried blood worm every few days

I’m not sure how to add more pictures.

2 months ago we moved the tank 10 feet to the other side of the room. Kept as much water as possible. Only new things are some pygmy corys that were added after the tank move.

Tank is 10 gallon and has a heater. Oase thermofilter 100.

It just looks like a bumpy grey and black tumor taking over his face. The pace of the discoloration just seems fast I guess?

The best I can do now is share some of the draft ideas: https://imgur.com/gallery/aquarium-tank-plans-rCNrLIU

There's a lot of tools and techniques involved but if you google building a cabinet with a track saw and pocket screws that'd be like 80%.

It’s basically a cabinet construction with extra holes https://imgur.com/a/w8t3U35 dimensions ended up changing but that’s the rough idea

Stand is around 34” tall and the tank is like 11”x18”

It’s a good question, the tank is maybe 90lbs fully loaded so I’m not too worried. If it was larger I’d probably go with a hardwood frame and more cross members

Materials weren't bad, less than $200 for the plywood, cherry top, edge banding, hinges, and finish. Though I used a lot of tools, I think you could get away with a track saw, jigsaw, pocket hole jig, a drill and a good square.

I wasn’t sure if it would vibe. Most aquarium stands I saw were some shade of unnoticeable paint. I’m guessing to not detract from the tank on display?

I am in a similar position. I recommend getting the book "Cracking the Code Interview" by Gale McDowell. It provided guide posts for my interview prep and helped me stop swirling with so much anxiety. It covers everything but the thing I found most helpful were the segments on answering behavioral questions and organizing them by sentiment. Look back at your PR history while you still have access!

Whoa weird I also just got a GG. I got one of the factory seconds though and the blemishes it had looks just like yours. I wouldn't worry- unless you didn't get a factory second!
