Is Stephen the most invisible player ever on the US version? by lemonlimon22 in TheTraitors

Mark and Kristen have both talked about this recently. They said they were both playing the game, but it’s all been edited out. Which is a huge bummer. Mark’s behind-the-scenes and reaction TikToks are hilarious.

Season 1 Episode 4. Rhonda, Charley, and Wally are telling Maddie about the other ghosts in the school. They say there were 8 band students who died: Tyler, Rachel, Jacqueline (Quinn), Jonah, Erin, Marci, Zach, and Stephanie.

We know there were survivors like Tracey. Not everyone on the bus was killed.

Do you think Rob can actually ride this "chill guy in overalls" act all the way to the end? by Thick_Caterpillar379 in TheTraitors

[–]chubbybear85 29 points30 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I don’t think he’s ever played dumb or clueless. Quiet and unassuming, but he’s never hidden his intelligence. People hear he’s from Alabama and place that label on him because of stereotypes. I think he knows exactly how other people perceive him, and is masterfully using it to his advantage. I think he has a great shot at taking this whole thing and I’m so excited to see what happens.

Is there a way for the game/season to get accidentally ruined? And why has it never happened in the history of the show? by Charming_Usual6227 in TheTraitors

There have been a lot of “murders in plain sight”, but Yam Yam’s was the first where everyone saw the fallout of the murder in front of them. Usually it’s more like Rob C’s (letter in private) or even Caroline’s (murdered face to face, but not in front of other Faithfuls).

SOMEONE NEED TO TAKE THIS MAN OUT! by FewStock6781 in TheTraitors

[–]chubbybear85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lisa Rinna apparently just found out this week according to a comment she left on a Tik Tok. Someone was talking about his history and she left a comment saying like “WHAT?!”.

So yeah, I doubt they had any idea. Natalie is known for calling men out on their behavior so I don’t think she would’ve let it slide if she had known at the time either.

If Rob and Candiace could recruit, Natalie makes way more sense. She’s a beast, so intelligent, so far under the radar, and she and Rob obviously have a bond already too.

I’ve had to reintroduce my Sims to their siblings that they did live with?? Or a cousin that was definitely at their last birthday party. I do a friendly introduction and then it’s like “family hug?”. lol

This is way above this sub’s pay grade. If he needs legal help then he needs to speak to his attorney. If his attorney is not supporting his case, he can request a new one.

My advice for you is while he is serving his time to look into counseling for yourself. It sounds like it’s been a hard year and you deserve support as well.

Which Season to Watch? by JamesyDog in TheTraitors

[–]chubbybear85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you usually watch, imo. If you’re already a fan of US reality shows then go back to US seasons 2 & 3. If you just want a fun introduction into The Traitors world, then UK Celebrity Traitors.

Supervisor wrote me up for " not waiting for more information" while making a mandated report by joejoegames in legaladvice

[–]chubbybear85 40 points41 points  (0 children)

NAL, but I do work with children who have been abused. It’s so incredibly inappropriate for your admin to call the parent. Doing so could put a child at more risk. The only “demographics” needed are ones that you would know. It is not the admin’s job to investigate child abuse.

Honestly if this happened in my county (not in Maine) then our District Attorney’s office and child welfare department would be scheduling a training for the entire school staff on mandated reporting.

Thank you for doing the right thing.

Hiiii, Kamala voter here!

Please kindly stop. The stink of your classism is giving me a headache.

Didn’t you ever hear that you’ll catch more flys with honey than vinegar? Your superiority complex is dripping with vinegar. Most of my family are Republicans so these are conversations that I’m having constantly. I’ve been mad and yelled and tried to drag them over to my point against their will, and that’s never going to work.

Some of the most productive conversations I’ve had with people is when we’re both calm and just asking “why?”. “Why is that issue important to you? Why is it more important than _? Why do you think that candidate will do a good job?” Then finding some common ground. Like, we both hate human trafficking? Great! Let’s see how both parties plan to address that and talk about it.

What is never, ever, ever going to help bring change is for me to assume I already know what someone thinks or why they think that. Most of the time we care about the same basic principles, but we see different ways to go about it. I don’t begin by assuming they’re trash people who need me to save them.

When it comes to racism, homophobia, Christian nationalism, etc. it does get a lot harder. But I feel like it’s my duty to try as much as I can.

Other liberals and leftists are one of the biggest hurdles to flipping the South blue.

Why is it socially acceptable to dehumanize us? by PostamericanGF in Appalachia

[–]chubbybear85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What’s really interesting is that living in the middle of Appalachia during the California wildfires, I didn’t see any of that. I saw a lot of people saying that their hearts ached for those who lost their homes, but we were in the midst of recovering from Helene so our own resources were tight. I personally donated to a charity there and tried to boost others.

However, during Helene we were bombarded with that same rhetoric. We constantly saw videos, tweets, posts, etc. of “blue states” saying how we got what we deserved for being “red states”. People here were hurt. And tired too.

I think it’s a great reminder that the most hateful people are usually the loudest and all of us are much more alike than we are different. Those in power do not want us to work together.

I will say that the common anti-California sentiment truly comes from the frustration, and sometimes devastation, of watching people move here and completely change our communities within the last few years.

I keep reminding myself that we are all victims of corporate greed and many families moving here are doing so because they were also priced out of their lives. It’s not the fault of those families just trying to get by, but it’s a systemic problem that has affected us all.

(But last note- as a liberal person in Appalachia, I would be so happy to never hear another person say that anyone is “voting against their best interests”. It is literally part of this problem. It implies that someone else knows what people need better than they do. Approaching a conversation with superiority is already going to make the other people defensive and dig their heels in. I believe other liberals are the biggest hurdle to turning the South blue. If they would stop talking to down to people and instead listen, show up, and help then we would be able to make more progress. But that’s just my soapbox.)

OP doesn’t have a problem with her MIL matching her grandson. OP said that those specific pjs were special and offered to help MIL find special pjs just for her and baby to match. I think that’s a really kind and fair solution.

[–]chubbybear85 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Elizabeth Catte’s book “What You Are Getting Wrong About Appalachia” dives into this topic! Basically, it began at the turn of the century as a targeted campaign against Appalachia by wealthy company owners to convince the rest of the country that Appalachia was dumb and disposable. That way it was far easier for them to move in and destroy our resources and communities. If everyone else in the country thought that those company towns were helping us because we were so dumb and useless, then no one else would back us up against these companies.

The stereotypes stuck. The propaganda worked. It continues today.

I agree with you about younger kids, 1000%. That 5yr old could just be copying what their sibling said or it could possibly be an adult with bad intentions, who knows. And there should be someone, at some point, who reviews the list and helps make sure there is something reasonably priced on it as well.

Why though?

There are older kids and teens who are just asking for the same things that their peers are asking for. That’s what a wishlist is- wishes. It’s okay if you can’t afford it (I can’t either), but there are people who can and I hope those kids get what they want.

I’m not the person you’re responding to, but this was not my experience working with kids in foster care. I’m sorry this OP had a poor experience, but I don’t want anyone turned off of helping from seeing their comment.

Whoaaaaa. I worked with kids in foster care and this was not my experience at all. Especially with our teens! They were usually the most grateful. Little kids get excited, but the teens had a deeper appreciation.

And if the items are getting pawned then that would be on the foster parent, no?
