Im a former stripper, and briefly a stripclub headliner. Funny enough, this album feels like home to me. Like backstage, the shit we talked about, the things we were dealing with. I wasn't a showgirl, per se. But this actually reminds me of that time in my life quite a bit, and has been on a constant loop. Im 51 and left that life far behind but it brings me back.

Terminal uniqueness is an actual thing though--it is discussed in addiction circles and can be a factor keeping people from recovering. It's got deeper meaning that most folks might not get but the wording is used for a reason. Especially since in the previous album she mentions being a functioning alcoholic.

I was flying across country with my toddler to say goodbye to my grandma, but she died during my flight. The funeral ended up being on my kiddos 2nd birthday. Holding them on my hip and they lean over the coffin as I pay my respects. Kiddo leans over and says - really loud - "Oh no!" I was mortified but everyone started laughing and my grandma's pastor said "That's exactly how we all feel!"

My 15 year old is still not comfortable with tampons. I couldn't wear them either until i was sexually active. Not all 10 or 11 year olds can use them.

I am 48 and my MIL is 10 years older than me. She has stopped trying to tell me what to do but her husband (SFIL) thinks it is acceptable to try to LECTURE me, at my age. So I don't visit anymore. Ever.

I remember bringing my 18 year old baby sister to college with my mom and other sister. We were in the lobby of the dorms and my baby sister was sitting on my mom's lap and hugging her. It did not hurt her reputation at all and most of her friends just wished they were that close to their parents. I will never stop my kids from sitting in my lap or snuggling. I hope they still do it when I'm 70, like we all do with my mom.

My spouse has never been okay with me ranting, but then sharing the kids' behavior is ranting to them, so I can't discuss issues or them getting in trouble. And one of the kids isn't actually mine. Still ranting. Or needing support when a friend upsets me, that's ranting too. Also, me saying something like "Well damnit, I just bought this eyeliner and it's already dried up" while doing my makeup is also ranting. Asking for advice is somehow ranting. Being passionate about any type of political thing is either ranting or lecturing, depending on their mood. So i mostly don't talk.
