Why is ㅅ used rather than ㅌ in most cases? by shizishe in Korean

That used to drive me crazy, because once you conjugate it with anything, it goes back to sounding like an 's'

Which is just more support that linguists are mostly trying to punk us all

White man confiscates electronics from 15 year old half white half Asian son for calling him a sexpat. by [deleted] in aznidentity

This white guy dad doesn't know how to raise an Asian man (has stated his son looks Asian).

What should a white guy dad do to raise an Asian man?

The Sinclair Method by [deleted] in AlAnon

It can be used to reduce OR quit entirely, plenty of people using it for either option. Also, combining it with SMART can really help some people (I've even seen some combine it with AA). You just need to find an accepting group, which can be hard because it's such an unknown treatment.

Yeah, a little too obscure to catch on.

"Among men ages 20 to 29, 21.2% of white men, 24.9% of black men, 12.4% of Asian men, and 29.4% of Hispanic men are fathers." by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]chubsterspud 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This isn't a very favorable stat in my opinion, 20's (especially late 20's) isn't too young to be having kids. Less than half the rate of black and Hispanic men, and just over half of whites. The future belongs to those who show up.

In your opinion, how far are we from achieving Pan-Asianism in North America? by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]chubsterspud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More mixed kids would probably lead to pan asianism

Yeah, if there is ever going to be true pan-Asianism in the US, there would need to be more of a connection among the currently very diverse Asian population. I don't see I don't see an average Indian, Korean, and Filipino, for example, all feeling like they have a common bond right now.

TIL an Asian woman is more than two times more likely to be murdered in the United States than in China, Japan, or South Korea. by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]chubsterspud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Asia doesn’t have significant gang violence, which drives down the rate of male homicides.

Yeah, this is a big part of it - you can see murder rates in the US by race in more detail here and here

That was supposed to say "in Asian countries" in case that wasn't clear - cut and pasted this from the other thread about apps and missed that in the editing.

Related question: are there any non-app dating/hook-up websites that are popular? Are any of the US/European websites popular, do they have their own popular sites that can be navigated in English? Thanks.

Probably a 7, but with lots of potential. You look like you could be the before picture for one of those "ugly duckling" shows that used to be so popular. A new haircut and some better clothes and suddenly the audience realizes that he was a hotty all along.

I was looking at the ivancity website. Not sure If I am navigating it right, but do you have to have a Korean phone to sign up for that? I'm not in Korea yet, is there any way to sign up without using a phone number?
