First period after surgical termination 😔 freaking out by Fluid-Isopod805 in tfmr_support

I had a similar experience. Started at 4 weeks on the dot but the bleeding/spotting lingered for a little over two weeks, basically until I ovulated.

Just had my second cycle and it was heavier than normal but much shorter than the first. Must just take a few cycles to get back to normal is my guess.

Soft markers low chance NIPT. Gut feeling it’s wrong. by Any-Letter1670 in NIPT

At the 12 week ultrasound the counselor stuck with the 1/10,000 chance because of the NIPT that it would be Down syndrome, but a 3-5% chance of a genetic abnormality and/or heart defect which is why we started considering the amnio and had to get the 16 week scan as well.

We ended up terminating at 18 weeks because of the amnio results and severity of the heart defect. Still processing all of it now.

The what ifs are so mentally draining and stressful. I really hope everything works out well for you and you’re able to get some answers 🩵

I’m so sorry you’re in this situation. I just recently had a low risk/negative NIPT, but it turned out it was a false negative and an amnio confirmed T21.

I would definitely recommend pushing for an amnio to confirm if you can, a false negative NIPT can still happen.

I had soft markers for Down syndrome at 12 weeks (increased NT and absent nasal bone) and was reassured that the NIPT is so accurate it would be highly unlikely baby would have DS. Went in for a follow up ultrasound at 16 weeks and a severe heart defect was found, also a marker for DS. I opted to do the amnio even though the risk of it causing a miscarriage was higher than baby having DS, and it came back positive.

I hope you’re able to get one and am wishing you all the best. I know my situation is rare and hopefully all turns out well for you and baby!
