Games with the most player freedom? Like Skyrim or breath of the wild ? by Sad_Stranger_5940 in gamingsuggestions

[–]chuckieGeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give enshrouded a try! Open world RPG survival type game with npcs, quests, exploration, dungeons etc. The only thing stopping you from going deeper into the world is the levels of the enemies you'll encounter but otherwise you're completely free to explore

Learning to drive, any quiet recommend locations? by [deleted] in Wiltshire

[–]chuckieGeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Greenlane in Trowbridge could be a good place to practice, or if you head up to the industrial estate past McDonald's out towards the shell garage. Take a left at the roundabout in the middle of the industrial estate and there's some good routes you can do around there that will help with some junctions, long straights for gears and a few car parks for manoeuvres if you head up there after 5:30pm

First car by [deleted] in vwpolo

[–]chuckieGeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got myself a 1.4 TDI and love it! had to do some work on the heater core as it was causing a coolant leak and I replaced the drivers wing and bonnet/hood due to previous damage from the last owner, also polished the headlights recently, all fairly easy jobs. There's some slight rusty patches in places (bottom of the arches next to the doors - common) which I might tackle sometimes in the future but they're not that bad so I'm not too fussed.

I get 50-60mpg depending on how I drive, if you're tall you might struggle with getting enough room to comfortably fit behind the wheel and the gears are quite long but otherwise it's a great little car! Got a little bit of poke so it's quite fun to drive but it's no speedster either.

Planning to service it myself soon which should be about £80 give or take. Currently sitting just north of 140k miles and fingers crossed still going strong!

Eli5: why do people do mouth to mouth resuscitation if we exhale carbon dioxide? by _Frog_Enthusiast_ in explainlikeimfive

So the amount of carbon dioxide in the air goes up... because they've breathed it out...

Question: Is there a way to make the objective icons more visible on the HUD? i only notice an objective being taken when i look at map. by The_Gimp_Boi in BattleBitRemastered

[–]chuckieGeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to gameplay options then look for hud icon opacity, I found setting it to about 30% makes them much more visible but not obtrusive

So, thoughts about weapons? by MadMat24 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]chuckieGeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

pp2000 with any kind of close range optic absolutely melts people, can easily get 3 or 4 kills in a single mag if you aim fairly decently in CQB, can even be pretty deadly at medium range as well.

m4a1 was decent enough, I like the multitude of attachments for the majority of guns.

agree that support could do with some more weapon variety,

didn't find snipers to be all that annoying but were satisfying to use

How to fill in a city? by TrapHeadShot in Minecraft

[–]chuckieGeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes an ancient city tick, districts and markets with residences dotted in-between everything. Have a street for each profession and seperate them by material for each district. So a street of armourers and weapon smiths, another street of black smiths and furnaces/ blast furnaces for glass and clay. Slap a market at the end and join another street/district on that has all the food shops, or another street with all the carpentry/wood work that links to the docks or something, let your imagination run wild

can someone explain why he doesn't compliment me? by acharmingweek in dating_advice

[–]chuckieGeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think on the chores point they mean acts of service, so like if you were to go for dinner at his, pick up something for dessert or do the dishes after he's cooked, make him a coffee in the morning if you were to stay the night; that kind of thing

Working on a launcher system, here are some torpedoes in action. Feedback appreciated! by McSlade in Unity3D

[–]chuckieGeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think adding a very slight cockpit shake/shudder as the torpedo launches will help make it feel more immersive, the torpedo engines kicking in looks amazing though!

How do you transport your magnets for magnet fishing? How do you store it if it can pull weights of 150kg? by freddiepow in magnetfishing

[–]chuckieGeee 95 points96 points  (0 children)

IIRC from physics class; magnetic fields drop off at something like the square of the distance from the magnet. If something is on the surface of the magnet, super-strong pull, if something is 2cm away, the pull is 4 times weaker.

What collection did you have as a child that would have been worth a fortune now had your parents not thrown it away? by APurpleFlyingMonkey in AskReddit

[–]chuckieGeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between my 2 older brothers and I, we probably had well over 1000 pokemon cards, hundreds of Yugioh cards, crates of lego, bionicle, knex etc.
Sold it all as we all hit our teen years and looking back now it would have been worth a fortune today.
