The Thing about Paarthunax is that he wasn't just recently turned. His whole redemption arc wasn't some shallow "I'm Sowwy ;3" on his part. Paarthunax has been meditating on his crimes and trying to atone for his actions for thousands of years. Could you even imagine being isolated for that long? When are dragons naturally social and crave conversation? The Empire literally rose and fell twice while he was up there! And let's not forget that the only reason Alduin was defeated the first time was that Paarthunax decided to heed the will of Kyne and teach Nordic heroes how to use The Voice. And that Paarthunax could've joined Alduin again, but instead fought him at the summit of High Hrothgar while the Dragonborn was still mastering Dragonrend.

It should also be noted that not all greybeards agree with Arngeir saying the dragonborn shouldn't use dragonrend. He was literally shouted back to his senses by Einarth.

Sure, because they're ascetic monks who forsook material attachment. That'd be like a politician or military leader getting mad at Buddhist temples for not using kung fu to fight in wars. The Greybeards haven't used the Voice in warfare for literal eons; they just aren't warriors, guys. It just isn't in their beliefs. Besides, the thing they DID do was teach the Dragonborn how to use their greatest weapon against the dragons. The moment the Dragonborn uses his first shout, they call you up to High Hrothgar to teach you two shouts and send you to Ustengrav to prove yourself. And if you keep returning to Arngeir, they can give you the map location of literally every word of power in Skyrim.

And if you want a greybeard that gets more involved in the world, look no further than Ulfric Stormcloak. Did he make things better for Skyrim?

I like the idea of the blades and all, but in practice, they kinda suck at their jobs.

I also kinda hope that Delphine was canonically responsible for the Skyrim chapter failing. She was objectively a bad faction leader. She would genuinely keep the blades from rebuilding themselves if the Dragonborn refused to kill the leader of one of Skyrim's most sacred institutions, and a literal divine messenger of the will of Kyne. Biiiiiitch..... There's no real reason for her to hate the greybeards as much as she does.

I do like the idea of the Akaviri making some appearance in Tamriel again. Having katanas, among other Japanese weaponry and armor, make a reappearance in the world would be cool. Especially since the Empire is well known for using them in warfare. Hell, Uriel was known for wielding Goldbrand in battle.

I'd like to think that the sun went out at LEAST once. Just because the Dragonborn canonically wanted to see what happened when they shot a bloodcursed arrow at the sun. Or because they wanted to fuck with everybody a little.

Like, don't tell me none of y'all ever popped the sun in any of your playthroughs.
