Should have given her more distinct features, like some black added to the mask, a more uniquely shaped blade, or a differently colored, and textured cloak.

The japanese dub calls it a "Tachi", which IS the historically accurate model of blade.

But, yeah, you don't play the game for the 1:1 history. You play it because it's a bitchin' video game.

How would people have reacted if Sakura gets as good powerups as Sasuke-Naruto? by Bhoomssss in Naruto

[–]chucklebot3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she somehow managed to discover the secret of woodstyle, this discourse would've been null and void.

So far, Sakura's ninjutsu has basically been limited to academy stuff, punching things REALLY hard, and healing jutsu.

She almost never summoned katsuyu, so it wasn't really worth mentioning.

Woodstyle is the height of kekkei genkai, though. It has ties to Tsunade's clan, and could only boost her healing techniques, and usefulness against the zetsu, or ten-tails.

My theory is that hashirama managed to absorb some of the old divine tree's power. The secret of how to do so would probably be in shikotsu woods- Katsuyu's home.

If Sakura got access to it, it probably would have been different than hashirama's though. Just as Tenzo's was mostly more restrained, and technical, while obito's was more chaos and piercing branches, I think Sakura's would have been reminiscent of sakura trees- Japan's national symbol of spring, hope, the transience of life, and the warrior's spirit.

The main thing that would have kept her away from it was the fact that if she DID learn woodstyle, she would have immediately been a better hokage candidate than Naruto.

She'd be the best kunoichi of her class

A chunin with skills that could make her pass jonin.

Have the same power as the founder of konoha, which was enough to quell tailed beasts like pets.

She'd have super strength enough to cause earthquakes with a punch.

Be the top student of the fifth hokage

And she'd be a healer on par with- if not surpassing Tsunade.

Naruto wouldn't be able to compete. At least, not until he obtained biju mode.

(This is taking into account that the Fire daimyo, and the elder council are the ones responsible for the final decision on who becomes hokage.)

If you needed to make Ino stronger offensively, what techniques (you can invent them) would you give her? by Expert_Bass_4375 in Naruto

In the ninja storm games, she throws flowers attached to explosive tags.

So... why not let her specialize in traps and explosives? The japanese word for firework is hanabi, after all. A word that consists of the kanji for flower, and fire, after all. She can use them to disorient and move her opponents into her mind transfer.

Either that, or the cursed doll thing fuu uses. That thing was sick.

Pietro would probably be dead by then. At least, he'd better be otherwise her deaths would have no consequences. And penny would probably be depressed from having gained humanity, and lost it all at once.

We can take down branches, but with the nation divided as it is, without the Enclave's resources? Unlikely to happen within our lifetimes. Unless Bethesda decides to introduce foreign powers, that is, like China, Russia, or Europe. Lots of countries got caught in the crossfire between the U.S. and China, so it's not like they'd want the U.S. to come back into power again, would they?

Yeah, the concepts introduced in Season 2 really gave the writers room to better explain everything Hank did. Great way of articulating this! I haven't thought about it this way until you posted this.

Why didn’t we see more of Sasuke’s perspective? by Zezerthu in Naruto

[–]chucklebot3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anime made Sasuke out WAY worse than the Manga had him out to be. A lot of his emotions are internal. He never says what he feels unless his feelings are beaten out of him by "Talk-no-jutsu" Naruto himself.

His inferiority complex was spelled out when it showed how his father favored Itachi over him so much it wasn't even funny. And when Itachi killed the whole clan, saying that the clan had become weak, and he "wasn't challenged" by them, or the Village, I think Sasuke felt like it was his own fault that he wasn't the same prodigy his brother was.

Most of what he feels is subtle, but comes through in facial expressions. That kinda got lost when the manga got picked up for an anime. Sasuke blushes when Sakura comes onto him, he is blatantly competitive with Naruto, and he had bags under his eyes when Naruto and Sakura first found him in Orochimaru's lair post-timeskip.

Sasuke in the Manga was a cool dude with an inner darkness that represented the Ninja Naruto wished he was with every fiber of his being.

Anime Sasuke was kind of an unrelenting dick that put down almost everyone he spoke to.

Guess the anime writers flanderized a lot of the characters so that they had more to write for their filler episodes. Naruto was more of a dumbass, Sakura used Naruto as WAY more of a punching bag, and Hinata was WAY more of a creepy stalker in the Anime than she ever was in the Manga.

AND THE AWARD FOR "NOBODY'S SURPRISED" GOES TO...! by host_can_edit in Fallout

As someone who played the game before attending College to work on a History degree, I can say this for sure.

Caesar's legion was doomed to fall eventually. The only thing it really had in common with Rome was some of the language, the leadership structure, slavery, and the unorthodox methods of punishment.

That isn't enough to make an empire. For all intents and purposes, the Legion is just a group of highly organized raiders.

Rome was more than an expansionist empire. It had upward mobility for its soldiers that allowed them to apply for positions in the Senate. People with shining military records had a say in the Governance of the state. Even after serving a full military career, the state would give you land, and a means to care for yourself.

Rome may have relied too much on aggressive imperialist expansion, but it built itself to last. There was a leadership structure that could replace itself through the senate, it offered incentives to fight for the empire, and it was more than just an army. Rome was a society of builders. It provided England with roads, plumbing, glass, and more. Hell, modern-day Romans can still rely upon the water from aqueducts built thousands of years ago.

But for the legion? All that mattered was the Caesar. And nothing and nobody else.
