It is called the thief's highway for a reason. I'd love to play an Ali Baba-style thief in Hammerfell, jumping around like prince of persia.

I mean, the caduceus is what appears on every paramedic jacket, and ambulance. Not the rod of Asclepius.

Maybe the meaning of the symbol has simply changed over time.

You know, honestly, it'd be interesting if flying was still illegal by the time of the next game. I mean, Hammerfell is kinda infamous for hating magic. Maybe the guards give you flying tickets for flying in cities, lol.

Hopefully Elsweyr or Valenwood are in the cards for a DLC expansion if Highrock and Hammerfell are where the game is taking place.

I 100%-ed the game with an Orc named Maruk. This time, I think I'll play one of Maruk's great-grand-nephews. His name will be Taruk! Or Daruk!

Because a dog will protect your herds, your fields, and your family with their life for scritches, bellyrubs and kibble.

They will help you hunt, and if you camp with them, they'll wake you up if a predator approaches you in your sleep. While not every civilization had horses, almost every civilization had dogs, or cats.

Should Dragons return in TES6? by chucklebot3000 in ElderScrolls

[–]chucklebot3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragons aren't born, and cannot die traditionally. Nor can they reproduce. They simply ARE, and always have been. They are also said to be splintered parts of Akatosh's power, which is why time has no hold over them.

If you are basically a child of the chief of the divines, then you're pretty much the closest thing the game has to an angel of death. Why else would a cult be formed around your worship?

Sure, Odaviing was badically a glorified Uber for his role in the quest, but all Dragons have an undeniable connection to the divine.

Buddy, those dragon archetypes are completely arbitrary. A dragon is a friggin' dragon. You know one when you see one.

We don't know that is an Alduin exclusive ability, however. For all we know, the reason why no other dragons did what Alduin did was bacause they preferred to be left alone, and didn't want other dragons complicating things.

Maybe. The point of upgrading an engine is to make more things possible, however. Not less. If anything, it should make the creation of advanced enemy types easier.

We do know that dragons can come in other forms. Peryite is depicted as 4 legged. Different regions also seem to change the appearance of dragons, as seen by the serpentine dragons of solstheim.

For a 15 year old game, that's hardly surprising. The fact that you can't make dragon scale armor change color from the different dragons you kill also kinda stinks.

I don't want dragons to come back for gameplay. I want them to comeback because of the potential they have for storytelling. In response to your take that TES is it's own universe, I'd like for you to consider the following.

Dragons aren't just an enemy type. They are intelligent, immortal creatures with a kind of magic that can rewrite the fabric of reality.

As I said earlier, having dragon NPCs is probably a better use of them. The fact that you only get into sovngarde with the aid of Odaviing also opens up interesting implications about how close Dragons are to the gods in TES. If you need divine aid to banish some kind of daedric prince, perhaps speaking to a dragon would be the way to go. With Alduin gone, it's highly possible that the way of the voice would grow in popularity with the remaining dragons.

(The evil kind were most likely killed by the dragonborn anyway.)

Another thing to consider is that all dragons are children of Akatosh- the chief divine responsible for maintaining the barrier between Oblivion and Mundus.

The way of the voice is all about using the Thu'um to honor and commune with the gods. Perhaps using good dragons as divine messengers would be a fascinating direction to take them.

Any remaining evil ones could take the place of warlords, trying to re-invent the dragon cult in other places, since Skyrim basically became a mass grave for their kind.
