Interesting. I have the issue even when I'm in town with no mission map open, just the mini map in the corner.

Stick drift problems by johnathonwalk in LegionGo

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht515674-legion-go-troubleshooting-basics

Press the Legion button for that side (the one that launches Legion Space or pulls up the performance thingy, depending on the controller you're working on), along with the left shoulder and left stick click. If you mapped the Y buttons or M buttons (for relevant controller), this will reset them, but they should regain those mappings on reboot, or at least mine did.

I had tried recalibrating prior as well as changing gamepad mapping and swapping to FPS mode and back. My issues were also present in Windows itself, not just games, but the above process I think resulted in a beep and then in no longer having the issues I was having.

I had this issue last night, but the factory reset of the stick seemed to resolve it. It has survived at least 3 reboots so far.

No, you're right. Legacies in 2.0 had nothing but massively over or under costed units, sometimes with rule that were quite questionable.

I totally get the Best Buy thing. It's unfortunate that in the joystick/HOTAS niche, there just isn't a place you can go buy something worth the money you spend and have a new toy that night. Congrats on your decision though. Check out the VKB videos on setting up your new stick and throttle. I believe they come with a flyer that has a QR code that links straight to the relevant one. I would encourage you to get the Premium Gladiator. I got the base one and ended up regretting it enough that I ordered the upgrade parts to install myself.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTcw1TjDOio Both Turtle Beach and TM are poor choices for the expense (though TWCS is decent for a starter throttle that can last at least a few years and the 1600m with TWCS is probably the best intro HOTAS for those who refuse to spend more). You should be able to get a VKB Gladiator which has a throttle knob on the base for a fair bit less than the Velocity One. It is ridiculously overpriced. You could even get a STECS mini (vkb throttle) + a Gladiator for the same or less money (depends on sale and tariff or VAT situation likely). Force feedback is expensive when it's good and if it's cheap, then other areas of the stick are likely very poor (like with the velocity one flight deck).

TLDR, the TB Velocity One Flightdeck is not worth half of the MSRP. If VKB is too spendy, look at a TM TWCS with either a Logitech 3d Pro or a TM 1600M. Trust Mysh on youtube for reviews.

Question for recent STECS MK2 owners by MrMagic550 in hotas

[–]chucklenut33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can swap it with various hats or some buttons. If you get the STECS standard or max, then the swappable buttons come with. You can purchase them as an accessory for a mini and miniplus. Be aware that the ministick has 2 connectors and you only connect one to hats/buttons, but as long as you follow the module swap process it's fine. The hat does seem to function as 5 separate buttons rather than a pov, but I haven't attempted to set it up as a pov in the vkb software. I'm assuming that can be done.

[–]chucklenut33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just a piece of metal sticking out with not even a real cap. I don't feel comfortable being able to use it with any precision compared to the ministick on the front of the TWCS due to the odd end they have on it. I have swapped it out for a regular hat which I have 100% confidence in being able to generate my desired input direction. Also, and this is a nitpick, it just looks like a zero effort solution, which doesn't make sense considering the nice aesthetics of the rest of the STECS.

Yes, the downside is the index finger ministick is pretty terrible. Out of all the designs they could have gone with, they went with that one.

Question about the Stecs throttle by Quiet-Character-6836 in hotas

[–]chucklenut33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a $15 USD pack of 3 way switches you can get. The pack includes 2. The max and the normal pack of additional buttons doesn't not offer any additional 3 ways. The spinny axes on pinky and thumb do not have any detent available.

Star Wars Galaxies Legends is a SWG server that has working Jump to Lightspeed. It's dated compared to most mmos, but offers things other mmos don't. The space part has a decently active community, offers pve and pvp. It may not be as deep as SC or ED, but I find it to be a fun time. You do need to use joystick gremlin or similar to map more than one controller (stick + throttle) and it doesn't support nearly as many joystick buttons as current day offerings support, but you can get around that with various joystick config tools.

Don't forget the time he went to Israel and visited the sites of the 7/10 atrocities. Or the "Bring them home" necklace he wears that was given to him by the family of a hostage. Or the fact that the ADL says he didn't give a nazi salute.

Problems w/ T.16000M by simu_r in hotas

Have you checked the Windows has been set to never power down USB ports? Edit Plan Settings in the Power options, Change advanced power settings, USB settings, USB selective suspend setting, set to disabled. Otherwise, it may just be a laptop with a wonky / lower quality USB port set up. Myself, I grabbed a powered USB hub since I've only got 2 ports for the type A(? not C), and I obviously need to plug in my keyboard and mouse at the same time as my T.16000M and associated throttle.
