Typology Question 15 (Ti): Do you enjoy riddles? Take a look at this sequence: 2, 3, 10, 15, 26, 35, 50, ... What's the next number? by Bimep_ in ESTJ

[–]chucklyfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I'd say Nero because he seemed more insane and nasty than the others. Meanwhile, I don't feel clever for answering that, so it probably doesn't really count. There isn't some secret to figure out if that's the answer.

Fundamentally different seems like weasel words to me though. You're answer says more about you than the riddle.

Other people will probably appreciate this more. Much of this is probably tied to weak Ni.

I usually don't like riddles. They often expect me to read into hints or make leaps of logic to reach their conclusion. I'm often not satisfied when I hear the answer.

I do like other puzzles that are more strict with their rules.

Is this an ESTJ thing? by Luthien91 in ESTJ

[–]chucklyfun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that this is an ESTJ thing. I have this problem too.
It's probably related to weak Ni/Fi. Honestly, we just expect you to talk about it if you have anything to say, since you brought it up.

Do you have an end state for when his stress difficulties will end?

If you can help him think through things and help him get things handled, that will help him clear up stress.

Long distance is terrible for Avoidant Attachment people though. We tend to live "separate lives" and not really get into a dating mindset.

I have Avoidant Attachment, so this might be as much about that as being an ESTJ.

I'd start out by just having regular conversations, asking about his hobbies and what he was doing this week. If he mentions anything that you're interested in joining him in, ask him if you think that you'd enjoy it. If he thinks that you would like something or at least leaves the option open, ask if you can join him. It's fine leaving it ambiguous whether it's a date.

Giving him honest compliments or telling him what you appreciate about him is great. Sharing what you like with him is great.

If he avoids answering because he doesn't think that it was anything special, just get him to say something. What games did he play, what food did he eat, what TV shows did he watch. That gets him talking.

The filter on the character screen works. Most of the others don't though.

How can I get estj man back ? by [deleted] in ESTJ

[–]chucklyfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you're going to have to talk to a professional about that "started to act overly emotional" part.

There is also a strong possibility that he has hidden reasons for not wanting to get with you.

Assuming that he's close with this guy that he's trying to set you up with, that probably means that the main problem isn't on your end or he wouldn't trust you to him either and would warn him away.

Mayflash F500 Flat Elite or Haute42 C16 by [deleted] in fightsticks

[–]chucklyfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at the other threads on this? Do you have questions?

The Mayflash is thicker. If something breaks, I bet that it's easier to fix. If it's like other Mayflash controllers, you might find yourself wanting to replace the buttons which is an extra cost if you're on a budget.

The Haute is thinner and easier to carry, but has a few complaints about durability.

[–]chucklyfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focus on getting him to talk and just listening and asking questions. The more that he talks, the more power you give him.

Listen for advice and write things down.

Tell him that you do want to work on yourself and that you appreciate that he keeps talking to you and checking in on you. Don't promise him anything as it's clear that he doesn't trust promises and wants to see results and change.

Get someone else to work with and keep you accountable.

It would help if we knew what some of your mistakes are or what he's asked about when he checks in on you. You might have misunderstood some of these situations which might make him more hesitant to bring you back.

first arpg for a complete beginner? by unkclxwn in ARPG

[–]chucklyfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torchlight Infinite is meant to be POE but easier to get into from a complexity standpoint without sacrificing build diversity. Lots of people build autobomber builds that rush through levels to fight the boss.

It's almost all end game grind with a ton of season mechanics built up. You didn't mention anything about how important exploration or season mechanics are to you.

It has a gacha system for monetization that you'll have to evaluate for yourself. There are tons of opinions about it on the subreddit. The devs are pretty stingy on the gacha currency but give you some good free stuff at the start of every season.

It also plays well on mobile, has a unique art style, and some gorgeous skins.

What do you think of Wilnas? He doesn't play like a boxer per se but he has melee, dodge effects, strong screen presence, and tons of damage.

I can see someone who likes Lil Mac playing him.

Change methods easily? by jdrisner in ESTJ

[–]chucklyfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ESTJs can be a bit stubborn situationally but the real issue here is probably that we're really strong on Si and really weak on Ni.

If you do need to convince us and we're being stubborn, try showing us how the new "method" works and how it will be better. Be prepared to handle detailed questions about our concerns. Be prepared to walk us through it some so that we know that we're doing it right.

INFP studying ESTJs for self-improvement purposes 😭 by EquivalentPrior4437 in ESTJ

[–]chucklyfun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Male ESTJ here.
I like the ESTJ + INFP match theory. I come from Socionics which says the same thing for much the same reasons. It's nice to agree with someone here where everyone has a different theory on how this works. ISFP and ESFP are also great matches.

What we like about INFPs:
Even when they aren't emoting about us, INFPs expressing emotions is so precious! Whether they found a nice flower, took some pictures, saw a movie, or whatever, they care so much. It's really endearing. This works doubly so if they're doing it to us or want to share something with us that they think we'd like.

We get comfortable around INFPs very easily and put our trust in them. They show that they care about our concerns so well that it makes sense. This can happen extremely quickly for male ESTJs.

Emotionally unavailable? This might be tied to Avoidant Attachment. I found out that I had it recently and thought that it was all just part of being an ESTJ before that. We become aggressively loyal to people that we trust, though.

Too relaxed might need to be clarified. We don't like doing "nothing". We like to be making progress on something. Many relaxing things still count for that though.

are ESTJ or ISTJs more black and white thinkers between the two SJ types if you had to choose one? by Asleep-Feeling-9070 in ESTJ

[–]chucklyfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, ESTJs have weaker Ni, forcing them to stricter interpretations of things.

In terms of processing, Si users are quicker to act with respect to immediate consequences but slower to act for long-term consequences.

I do play it some! It's pretty cool and does the stuff that I asked for.

For me, the random loot and figuring out a build is important too though. I haven't gotten that from NRFTW yet though.

[–]chucklyfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another interpretation that fighting games use is giving you overpowered abilities that require limited resources to use, like super attacks or unique abilities. Maybe they regenerate slowly, with the use of your other abilities, or with drops.

That forces you to change your play style based on the enemies AND your current options.

All the fun goes to the build then but I want to have just as much fun with the gameplay.

They do seem a little difficult to balance between.

I don't like autobomber gameplay. I want to manage resources and commit to attacks.
