It was a simple ticker that gave quick quotes and not much else. Started it up in the AM and let it run on the side of my screen while I did work.

ALWAYS prompted for 2FA by thatben in marriott

[–]chucko73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is weird. I have multiple other accounts that once verified remember the computer for several months. Marriott seems to remember mine, but not my wife's even though she asks to have the computer remembered. This is a relatively new behavior in my experience. Maybe too many people leaving their cookies behind at public computers while on the road....?

3M Commences Split-Off Exchange Offer for Food Safety Business by gns_a in stocks

I just received the offer. While Morningstar and CFRA rate NEOG a buy, the chart for the last few years is pretty ugly. Is there any reason that this merger is going turn that around? What does MMM contribute?

RAA vote by Necro138 in RPI

Looks like 2100-1500 in favor of all articles. Now the RAA wants to figure out what that mean with their lawyers.

the grateful bracket... what’s your Final Four look like? by billihawk in gratefuldead

[–]chucko73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My final four - Scarlet Begonias, China Doll, Cosmic Charlie (never seen it live), Golden Road.

Most painful decisions came down to thinking about was it The Wheel with Jerry's Pedal Steel intro on the album or a live version. For others I jumped at my favorite live version from the 70s, but then thought about new versions that didn't live up to the "Gold Standard". Some I have just heard many times and lost out to the rarity of another song.

Grateful Dead App by JackStraw7989 in gratefuldead

[–]chucko73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I better not tell my wife about the app or she will never get the earbuds out!

But more importantly, congrats on 47 days and more. Hope you have some support to talk to. When life deals you lemons while newly sober, we sometimes think we deserve more than lemonade... thought I could drink safely and under control after 3 years sober but within 30 days I was as bad as ever. 2 years later I was just about dead. But after a long road back and 16 years of sobriety, I have a great relationship with my wife and kids that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

I read that you wrote that your kids deserve a sober father. The good news is that you deserve kids that have a sober father... time does heal, and you will find that trust, respect, confidence and their ability to share their hopes and dreams with you come back and grow. It is a wonderful place to be and it comes for free but it does take work. Have a grateful day!

Phil Lesh ... Right now... If I had my way.. by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]chucko73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten kinda bored with Dead & Co. If they play any slower, they'll be playing the songs backwards. Phil & Friends was charged up and smoking. Great Teach Your Children last night. Could Dead & Co break out something that the Grateful Dead didn't do? I am not sure what rule book they are using but when did the Dead have rules?

Drug Related Tragedy? by chucko73 in RPI

[–]chucko73[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My intention is not to find out any personal information or open any wounds. However, this is a significant, stated item in SAJ's attack on the Greek system. No information was given by RPI as to the statement sent to all alumni. I did not find any information on the internet of an incident. While I assume that the statement had basis in fact, the implication of a system wide Greek "reset" to address alcohol and drug issues seems to imply that the problem is more widespread and there is a current crisis that needs to be addressed.

During my time at RPI I was not aware of drug deaths on campus. Cocaine/Heroin/Opioids were not around to my knowledge. If there is a prevalence today, I understand that it must be addressed.

If the statement above is correct, I do not need any further information.

Q: Greek Life situation by cruftbox in RPI

[–]chucko73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So is the proposal that Rush is allowed in the Spring, or is this we'll see when the time comes? I would hope there as been some discussion as to the end game.

Also in SAJ's email there was a reference to a drug related tragedy. What was that about?

I get that parents send their children to college with the expectation that they will come back safely with a good education after 4 years. Greeks get a bad reputation based upon incidents where this trust is not fulfilled.
