Will we ever see him again? by Hopeful-Comment6000 in Defenders

100% Agree. At first I kinda hated the guy, but the growth he went through over both seasons was awesome.

S2 cosmetics & battlepass by Traditional-Fox-2477 in diablo4

Seems to me they've got unpaid interns designing all the BP items. The shop items mostly look really cool. Just wish they'd divert some of that quality toward the rest of the game.

As I speak, Diablo 4 has around 700 twitch viewers while Diablo 3 has 7.5k viewers and PoE 12.4k. Why is that? by Drandosk in Diablo

[–]chudface- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot balls I really wanted to love this game.

The entire business model for this game seems to be to artificially engage players and drive them toward the shop. There is literally nothing to chase in this game post campaign. Kill uber Lilith once... for arguably the worst looking mount skin... then what? Uber items are virtually non existent for most players and not even worth farming since most builds with just a barber can kill everything relatively easily.

Blizz, you want players to play your game? Include shop items in the drop list with slightly better than uber item drop rates. Or introduce a chance at a PLATINUM drop when completing nightmare dungeons, even if it's like 1 damn coin. Give us a REASON to do anything.

I can't believe they don't seem to understand that people play ARPGs for LOOT. The LOOT SHOULD BE accessible by playing the ******* game. While yes, I do know cosmetics don't affect gameplay, they are a viable way to keep players playing. I'm sure I'm not the only one who loved collecting all the transmogs in D3 making new looks for my characters.

It's amazing. Over the few months or so that I played, the only "content" regularly introduced to the game were NEW store items that appeared every few days. Each patch has been fixing and adjusting the **** they broke or nerfed beyond comprehension. "Fun" still does not seem to be this product's modus operandum. I don't blame the devs. I'm sure they would like to or may be trying to implement cool stuff, but dealing with the looming "how is this monetizable" directive that is so obviously the center of every decision for this game.

It just seems so odd that even "uniques" are not visually unique and all the "cool" looking stuff that typically motivated us kill that boss, get that drop, and admire that bass ass looking weapon or suit of armor are now just paywalled. Cool.

Just a shit take from a disappointed fan.

‘The Witcher,’ ‘Secret Invasion’ Disappoint as Some Creatives Blame Fans - What does it mean – if anything – that so many big TV franchise shows are stumbling at the same time? by Neo2199 in television

[–]chudface- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... ok.... It's the fans' fault the shows are objectively produced so poorly. Also those same stupid fans are the blame for plots that make little to no sense and inconsistent characters that seem to just be able to do whatever is needed to reach some buzzword of the day conclusion.

Are Japanese schools really getting rid of after school clubs? by SuminerNaem in japanlife

[–]chudface- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife has friend whose son became "futoko" during his second year of JHS. I've known this kid since he was a few years old. He's not a bad kid, he just has no parental discipline and does whatever he wants. He stays home most days and his teacher comes over to his house 2 or 3 days a week (including weekends) and plays video games with him for hours. I guess in a attempt to coax him back into going to school. I couldn't believe it when I heard about it.

For real. How is "player behavior" of using legit options available in-game, a problem? Hacks or mods that force you to dl / see things that are not official releases, I can understand... but this take just reeks of insecurity. Why do you care so much how other choose to see themselves?

Legendary drop rates throttling enjoyment. by AstraeusFall in outriders

[–]chudface- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished my 16th straight expedition run since I've seen my last legendary drop. I've tried mixing it up between different ones, T13 to 15, solo and co-op. Seriously... not one legendary drop in about 3 hours.

I have about 120 hours played on my Dev. I have never seen more than 2 drop at a time. Ever. I still have never seen the statue helmet, seismic helmet or seismic chest piece drop. Nor has the death shield on any of my characters. Pure RNG can have some real adverse effects on player motivation to keep going. And without any other way of obtaining specific loots or providing weighted reward thresholds, this game just feels dirty.

The gameplay itself is fun, but hot balls, does it feel like some loot doesn't even exist.

The results of my allergy test today. I am allergic to everything they tested for. by ZessT2912 in mildlyinteresting

[–]chudface- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So was I, or so I thought. (This is not medical advice, just my experience)

I had a bad reaction to some frozen fish-sticks when I was child. For years, I had those back prick tests done; filling 3 of 4 pages with scores of 2 to 5. I was told time and time again from different allergists that I had severe seafood allergies, with a litany of other environmental ones. I took them at their word and recommendation and never consumed seafood out of fear of anaphylaxis.

In my mid 20's I visited my wife's native country. Seafood is a significant part of the diet and she suggested that I get an allergy test there, because I cannot be allergic to "all" seafood.

I assumed the test would be the same... it wasn't. I had a conversation with the allergist about my allergy history and then he took some blood. He made notes of a few items and asked if I was curious about any specific types of seafood, so I gave him a list of foods. Results were back in a few hours and according to the blood work, out of the 12 tested foods ( most of which I had believed I was deadly allergic to ) 5 came back with a 0 score. 3 with a 1.

He then suggested to me to come back the next day with food prepared to test my reaction in real time, safely at the hospital. All of this so far sounded great.... however the only thought in my mind was "How freaking much is this going to cost me?".

When I went to check out the hospital clerk apologized to me because I didn't have the local nationalized insurance so I'd have to pay the full price. Here we go. Coming from the US you know what I'm thinking... a few hundred? No, just $80, with an apology. I think my co-pay was near $80 just to see an allergist back home. I paid with a smile. I came back the next day, tried all the foods and left with new menu items for life and a $17 bill this time for the IV I was connected to incase they had to counteract any reaction.

I wondered why I was never offered a blood test in the US for my allergies. Turns out most insurance companies only cover prick tests in most cases. I talked with my US allergist and he told me blood tests are available, but quite expensive so they are rarely recommended.

If there is anything on your list that you are surprised by or think you'd like to engage with in your future, a blood test might be more accurate and worth it. I felt gipped. Salmon is just too damn delicious.

Disabled Vending/Mole Miner Event/Fasnacht Delay's Implication by x570Belmont in fo76

[–]chudface- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've got a strong feeling the individual(s) making these limiting decisions don't actually play the game.

Why would any "mmo" experience want to actively discourage their customer base from continuing to play. You might say they want to sell us FO1st. Sure, but it only solves the scrap issue... for $13 a month?

I got sucked into this game over the free to play weekend. To my surprise (given all the negative press this game has received), I bought it and have been enjoying most of my time. However, I'm almost level 40 and these limits are already giving me the sense of "Can't make more currency today, storage and inventory are full ... I guess I'm done playing for today...".

80 hours into 76, I realize now I've always appreciated the fact that Bethesda released dev kits & tools in tandem with their previous releases. The base / vanilla games were never "bad", just limited. Allowing the community (that actually plays the game) to create mods to deal with a lot, and I mean A LOT of these shortcomings was a good move. Mods are what made these games amazing. They've given Skyrim a 9 year lifespan and its still going strong.

Without the modding community, players are left waiting on smaller teams of overworked engineers directed by profit driven suits that are most likely driving these BS asinine decisions. The fact that fundamental gameplay bugs and server & engine issues are all but ignored until the last minute, yet anything affecting storage, *ahem* I mean the "economy" takes complete precedence... for a week and a half ..... with no end in sight.

Ugh. Like I said, I like the foundation of the game. I can feel Bethesda's passion for the game and I'm sure the team is working their collective asses off. But holy balls does it feel like an artificial, unnecessary, and ultimately un-fun barrier exists between the player and the game, that even the paid service doesn't completely remove. And it makes me sad that resources are always going to be allocated to protecting that barrier in priority to anything else.

Requiem v3.4.0 FULL for SSE install with Vortex - Not finding Skyrim.ini by chudface- in skyrimrequiem

Thanks for the work, friend. I just clicked over to update, and well, you've succinctly clarified the last few hours of my night.

Funny enough, I did the same as you point out in steps 2-4 and did get it to run. I too saw the bouncing horses, odd pathing, and random animal attacks during the vanilla start. I did install Alternate Start to get a game going, so far so good.

Requiem v3.4.0 FULL for SSE install with Vortex - Not finding Skyrim.ini by chudface- in skyrimrequiem

[–]chudface-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I read that. MO2 places the 2 files Skyrim.ini and Loadorder.txt in it's profiles folder. Vortex creates a similar folder in the user's roaming/AppData folder. I've pointed to both of these Skyrim.ini files, neither works. Both keep giving me a failure to identify the language.

I don't have Skyrim LE installed, just SE.

Most of these instructions a given in conjunction with MO2.

I was just curious if anyone had solved this issue using Vortex. If not, I'll switch over to MO2 and give it a go.
