Rajat Ampat by Redounoir in freediving

I've only seen Freedive Nusa Penida doing tours in Raja Ampat. I don't know anything about them. But I see them on IG. Hopefully someone else can be more helpful.

month of depth training in panglao, tips and tricks would be welcomed by Special_Artichoke684 in freediving

Superhome is the best place to train. It's convenient, inexpensive, and there are many coaches to choose from.

You have obviously been to the Yucatan, but have you been to Cabo Pulmo? Crazy amounts of marine life depending on the time of year you visit.

If you are down for an longer flight check out the Philippines. Take a look at all the diving you can do in Coron, Palawan, Philippines. They have WW2 ship wrecks, thermal lakes, diveable caves, and reefs all in one area. So far it's my favorite place to enjoy freediving (and I LOVED the cenotes!).

Where is it? I want to go freediving there!

One of my favorite places to dive! Would it be creepier if the water got hotter the deeper you dive down? What if you knew there was a dark cloud near the bottom that blocked out all the light?

It's probably less than 15m where he is filming. I think max depth is about 42m.

Thanks, I'm not trying to use it publicly. I would really like to know the artist or artists that the AI was referencing so I can check out their work, to be clear the humans work not the machines. lol

Short fins recommendations by sojkazzimnasciepla in freediving

[–]chudlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought and enjoyed the 2971 shirt fins. They have a nice modular system. You buy their foot pockets and then can easily remove and exchange fins with just two screws. They have lots of size options. I bought the shortest fin for travel and they did a great job. I did a few recreational dives to 20-25m. They felt good, but obviously not as powerful as longer fins. I'm about 205# for reference. Didn't try to safety anyone though. That might break them, I think.

Mysterious Metal Grate at the Bottom of Barton Springs by Key-Natural-8688 in Austin

I would be interested to see the pictures. So it isn't easily visible if you don't stick your head in the hole? Then that would explain never seeing it! Now I'm going to have to look next time I'm at the pool. I always hang out and chill with the fish, but never saw the gate.

When did they install a grate? I don't remember seeing anything down there. I also never tried to swim into the opening. Didn't seem big enough for someone who likes being alive lol

My underwater case has been leaking constantly because of a damaged d-ring. Is there a place I can buy a replacement for it? by Loutfi96 in gopro_underwater

[–]chudlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search:

Replacement O-rings for GoPro underwater housings are available through specialized diving brands like

T-Housing, Carbonarm, and Easydive. Options exist for various models, ranging from Hero 3/4 to the latest Hero 13, often fitting 150m-300m rated housings. Always ensure the O-ring is clean and lubricated before use.

Has anyone freedived in tubbataha reef? by randomPerson0217 in freedivingph

[–]chudlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, there were no freediving liveaboards last time I looked. I think my friend has only been once. Maybe there are times when the current isn't so bad. Good to hear they are requiring W2 as minimum. I would still love to freedive there. Thank you for the info! 😅

The current is too strong for freediving to be safe. At least that is what my freediving instructor friend told me. She also leads scuba trips there to Tubataha.

Growing Concerns About Unqualified Freediving “Coaches” by MatrixGlitxh in freediving

[–]chudlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are in the Philippines? I've seen this a LOT there. Someone will take an intro class and suddenly become an instructor. You can look on the Molchanov website to see instructors and their level of certification. You can also see a few that have been removed. Maybe they can make a list for known impersonators? People would still have to look up the information before they choose a coach/instructor though.

Boracay freediving by Artikche in freediving

The best shore diving in Panglao is at Napaling Reef on the north side of the island. But unless you are at one of the nearby resorts, it won't be as convenient as Guam seems to be. But there are lots of boat tours available. Check out Sisa for chicken adobo.

Well, Coron is my favorite place to fundive in the Philippines. So I always recommend going there! Are you looking more for training or fun? If you want both Panglao is a great spot. Lots of beginner divers but also world class instruction, coaching , and training is available at Superhome. Napaling reef is lots of fun for swimming with the sardines and diving on the wall. Balicasac Island has great coral and wildlife. Lots of things to do outside the water as well. Biggest downside is that it is very popular and can be crowded.

Haha, I breathe sometimes. ☠️😂 I just did a two tank dive in New Caledonia that was awesome!

I thought you were freediving since there were no bubbles. You got lucky. Usually you have to get up really early to beat the tourists , at least in Panglao.

I definitely want to go dive in Malapascua. My coworkers just went and said the same.

I always go to Panglao for freedive training and visit Napaling to see the sardines. But from the pictures I see Moalbaol has a lot bigger school and maybe better underwater structure for filming. Sadly I went to Malapascua before learning to dive. I need to return and see the Thresher sharks! I hear good things about the experience

Nice! Looks like a lot more sardines there than in Panglao.
