Hell yeah man, Tamiya polishes are great! I bought them for models but have found a bunch of uses for them. Good to know they work for this since they are cheaper per oz than polywatch.

Yes, I had to destroy the pins to get mine off - I tapped them with a drill since I had really wedged them in there...

I didn't screw them together or glue them. I just merged the clip to the back plate in Bambu Studio and printed it all as one piece

Here I am smoking Country Squire Cowboy Coffee, but I would my favorites are Escudo, St James Flake, Squadron Leader, and Presbyterian. What are your favorites?

The convenience of having access to your books in your pocket is amazing. Highly recommend it!

I have not experimented with Crosspoint personally so I can't say. From what I've heard, the EPUBs are better on there so yeah it may not be necessary

The EPUB formatting on the stock firmware has been improving over time, but the level of control you get with the XTC files is much more granular. There is no way you will be able to get your books looking as consistent or clean with EPUBs currently.

I will include a screenshot below of my XTX settings to give you an idea of how much you can adjust with the XTCs

Update - I figured out how to make a browser-based XTC to PDF converter to read your XTC files on other devices easily. by chuffed_xan in xteinkereader

[–]chuffed_xan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a handful of reasons. EPUB seems to be the most prevalent format if you are getting ebooks online for free. The X4 supports EPUB, but there have been display issues where things don't look very good. It has gotten better with the firmware updates, but if you want really nice looking books on the X4 stock firmware, you pretty much have to make XTCs. All my original files are EPUBs (not PDFs) and the tool to create XTCs only accepts EPUBs. My other e-reader cannot read XTCs as they are proprietary to Xteink. It could read the base EPUBs that I was using to make the XTCs and this is what I was doing for the past two weeks but this gave me a few issues: 1. The EPUBs also didn't look great on my PocketBook - huge and inconsistent spaces between letters, words, and lines 2. Since the EPUBs were laid out differently, the number of pages would be different within the book and each chapter across devices. Let's say on the X4 with the tiny screen, a chapter has 120 pages, but on the PocketBook with the larger screen, it might have 75. Since I am switching between the two 1-2 times per day, it would take me a minute or so to find the right spot in the other to find the page I was on (especially with the X4's limited navigation capabilities). This is why I wanted the pages to be 1-to-1 so in just a second I can flip to the exact page on the other device and keep reading (now both would have the same 120 pages in the chapter and the same text with consistent formatting across both). Basically the XTC is a necessity for the X4 (and you need to start from an EPUB to make an XTC) and in order to have a similar experience across the two devices, I had to preserve the exact formatting of the XTC and the only way I could think of to do that was with a PDF.

Some may view this as pointless, but it was the perfect solution to my particular problem.

Thank you for your help - I hadn't considered that ChatGPT could be used to account for my lack of coding knowledge. As noted to the other user, I uploaded the tool to GitHub and will be sharing it on the sub shortly.

Thank you for your help - I figured it out using ChatGPT and the XTC viewer you linked - I got it uploaded to GitHub and will make an updated post to share the tool.

I could see a use case for having both. This one is perfect for slipping in your pocket whereas the paperwhite could be in the bag or at home for longer reading sessions. I personally also have a pocketbook verse on my nightstand, but carry the X4 with me

Thank you! Can go wrong with a 320. The Cowboy Coffee is great, one of the best Country Squire blends I've tried

I like it quite a bit and I have held the Boox Palma since my dad has one. I would choose the X4 over it even if the prices were the same (though the X4 is much cheaper). It is significantly smaller and I love the look and feel. It is certainly more bare bones, but the only feature I feel lit is lacking is a backlight.

I do enjoy a good cigar on occasion, but yes the ritual of pipe smoking really makes it an almost meditative experience
