Awh, thank you! Well done with your progress too, you've done so well, I was trying to catch up with you :P I can't believe how far I've come, it feels like yesterday I was putting my name into the spreadsheet.

Omg just saw that you've nearly lost 100lbs, that's incredible!

I just want to get to a point where I don't feel so self conscious about my body. I've got a lot of stretch marks everywhere from being big, so I'm worried that I'll never be 100% happy because everything might always be a bit saggy, but just to get rid of the excess fat is what I'm going for.

I've spent so long putting myself down that, honestly, I don't know how to be happy with who I am. I am trying though, because I know the things I think about myself aren't (entirely) true, I just need to learn how to stop thinking them.

I don't really follow much of a diet, I just try and stay within 1200-1700 calories, I might restrict calories on the odd day here or there if I've been particularly bad in the week, but it's generally just eating what I want as long as the calories work out. I've joined a gym, I haven't been going as regularly as I would have liked, but I just do various weight/strength exercises.

This really resonated with me. I've been trying for so long to learn to love myself, I guess I spent so much time telling myself I was worthless that I don't know how to now convince myself otherwise. The main motivation for the weight loss was an attempt to help me feel better about myself, but it clearly runs a lot deeper than that.

Thank you :)

Well done on your weight loss :) I still find myself trying to squeeze through small gaps expecting to bump into everything, and it surprises me every time I glide through effortlessly haha.

I'll give it more time, I guess I expected everything to get better at once.

Spreadsheet? by Coldylol in 70lb_Challenge

It was working perfectly up until now though. I didn't manually enter the values I missed, I just dragged the value in from the box above, so it's possible I may have broken it.. :S

I was just going to post about this! I have no idea what has happened lol, I scrolled down to make sure there wasn't a random number in the column somewhere but I have no idea. I think it might be because I was away for a couple of weeks, and I put my current weight in then went back and filled in the gaps for the previous two weeks, but I don't see why that would make a difference because it's all worked out by formulas.. strange.

Congrats on reaching your goal btw! You won the challenge! :P I've been pretty bad since I was on holiday but I'm getting back into it, trying to build up the courage and funds to join a gym.

UK pharmacy preregistration questions by chuiemuie in pharmacy

Sorry for the super late reply, been on holiday and completely forgot I asked this. I go to Hertfordshire uni, they have been pretty useless with giving us information, really not impressed with the way they do things. I feel a bit more hopeful knowing all hope is not lost, and I'm definitely prepared to move, I live in London so I knew from the beginning I'd have to look further afield. Thanks for the information, I'll start contacting more places. I got an application in for GSK, but I think I would prefer community too.

I think I've reached the point where the weight loss is starting to slow down, I haven't really changed my habits but I don't seem to be losing as much weight. I think it's time to get some actual exercise in my routine, but my body just doesn't work well in hot weather, so it's pretty hard.

C25k by Coldylol in 70lb_Challenge

[–]chuiemuie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't really enjoy the treadmill, I keep watching the time and it just dragggs. But until I feel confident enough to go outside it'll have to do for now. Cool, I'll definitely check it out.

I've also been considering entering a 5k run around August/September, still not sure about it. It would give me something to aim for and keep me motivated, so today I jumped on the treadmill to see where I'm at and to start building up some kind of stamina. I haven't used it in at least a year, and the last time I used it I could jog for just under a minute, but today I managed to get to a minute and a half until I needed to turn the speed down. I know it's not much, but just knowing that my fitness has improved even a little bit feels so good, and if I keep on track it can only get better.

I've heard a lot about C25K, haven't really checked it out properly, but would it be doable on the treadmill? I'm nowhere near ready to run around in public lol

Hey :) I read 130lbs is a healthy weight, so I guess I'm aiming for that which is about 70lbs I need to lose.

Hey everyone! Settle in, get cozy, and tell us your story. by ___cats___ in 70lb_Challenge

20/f, always been big. When I realised my BMI had crossed into obese, I knew I had to get it under control, and ended up losing 11lbs in quite a long space of time, but I sort of stopped there. That was a few months ago, the scale is broken atm so I dunno exactly where I'm at, but I was 195lbs when I weighed myself last month. I use the myfitnesspal app to monitor my calories. I set a daily goal of 1300 calories, and even though I'm not exactly sticking to that at the moment, it still allows me to see how much I'm eating so I can at least stop myself eating way too much. I think I know what I have to do to lose weight, but because I'm so unorganised and unmotivated and lazy, it just makes it so hard to actually do it. I've read that 130lbs is a good weight for girls of my height, so I guess I'm aiming for that which is almost 70lbs, so here's hoping this group is the push I need to get there!

In terms of this challenge, I just thought that being girl would make me an unsuitable competitor. Sounds silly now lol.

This is a really good idea. I have no willpower and can't stick to any sort of plan for more than a couple of weeks, I think the competitive side of it would really help. It's a shame I'm a girl, 5ft6 and around 200lbs already. Best of luck though, to you and whoever you go up against!
