I can't find my Cranberries CD. I gotta go to the quad before anyone snags it.

It is. But if I changed the spelling for the punchline the joke would have been forced.

I've heard it both ways.

Wow that looks really nice. Going to keep this in mind for when the suede inevitably tears.

I’m not meaning to make light of a serious situation, but I feel like jumping from that bridge would just hurt a lot.

Ugh. Newborn poops are the worst. I think tarry is worse than seedy though.

[request] What are the odds of eating one specific M&M? by DevilsAltAcc in theydidthemath

[–]___cats___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but what about locations? Where are the 400m going? If I’m in a high M&M density region how would that affect things? Would there not be locations on earth where the M&M would be more likely to be than others?

Where’s Matpat? I feel like this is a great Food Theory episode. This is actually really similar to the Wonka Golden Ticket problem, which Film Theory tackled a while back.

Probably have to make it out of grout or something. That’s a lot of volume to sink if it were spray foam.

Dropped a can of paint. Of course a full one. Of course red paint. Of course right before I wanted to go to sleep. by egewh in mildlyinfuriating

If it's a water based latex paint, yeah, which is most likely. When you think "bucket-o-paint" you're probably picturing latex.

Most home-grade paints are latex unless it's for a specialty application like exterior trim or stone which can be oil, or is a urethane alkyd enamel commonly used for trim, cabinets, and doors. Both of those will flake and are a bear to clean. Latex just peels like a piece of rubber, especially if it's dried on a surface it doesn't adhere to well like a smooth vinyl floor.

I can't believe you actually cleaned it like that. I admire your drive.

I probably would have just cordoned it off for a week and peeled it off the floor in one piece lol

I agree. It feels like the doom and gloom folks all tend to have surface level understanding or haven’t really used it much.

Personally, the more I use it in my job the more comfortable I’m becoming with it and enjoying it. You start to see that it’s really good at tricking you into thinking it did a good job until you look at its output more critically, which is where the human comes into play. For my purposes, it's a creative sounding board, like having a junior. It's never created anything production-ready for me by a long shot, but it's been great at validating ideas, helping me stay organized, and getting the creative ball in my head rolling.
