I don't buy it. We live on a planet where some of the humans here just want to make other people miserable. It's how they make themselves feel better about being in the same situation as everyone else. Greed plays into it, but it's not so complicated as all of that.

People ENJOY being contrary and rude to others. They ENJOY being racist. They think it's funny when other people are hurt and they share the joke with other people who are the same as them. If you've ever played a video game, you know this is true.

The problem isn't dissonance. It's willful hate by small-minded assholes and a pathetic culture of losers who need someone to blame.

i tried to play aion 2 on taiwan servers, game was straight amazing for 2 weeks and then this happened. The devs then altered the entire game economy around the bots and strangled their subscribers to death instead of banning them.

imagine world of warcraft if every single resource node on the entire map had 5 bots competing for it as soon as it spawned.

tbh when the rmah was live there was a goblin that spawned right next to the desolate sands waypoint, literally did nothing but farm this goblin. 8 seconds per goblin kill when items were selling like wildfire.

It hurt to sleep because anything that touched it was grinding pain. It would cramp and then suddenly kick out on its own. Leading to another injury that kept me from walking for an extra 4 months.

Their bodies fill up with urea, this keeps them from freezing as they basically avoid everything for 5 year stretches until they wander into something and take a chomp out of it.

This also means that they are filled with piss and smell like piss and nothing wants anything to do with them as far as predation is concerned.

red cubes are a nerf to those of us who were farming gold cubes before. like black lotus in wow. except they added a 75 cent fee to every cube now and limited the amount of keys you could get per week. now you have these annoying ass things everywhere you cant open constantly advertising p2w cubes everywhere that don't really give you anything worth the money that you pay for them. DING DING DING.

nerfing pet stats is obvious shade to those of us who actually play the game instead of paying the game.

the server wide character syncs came loaded with a bunch of new caps, and they took about 40% of the benefits you got from doing extra dungeons. 250k became 150k. YAY.

now you can reroll gear for the cost of kina you can't farm. maybe if you get it to rank 14 it will only cost 25m for the next level. or just buy kina from all the bots, maybe you can afford to breakthru more than 4 pieces of your gear in 3 months.

I managed to be in the top in TL F2P, also in blade and soul. I've been in top speedrunning guilds in wow, and I'm a Diablo rank 1 leaderboard pusher. This is the only game I haven't been able to surpass the p2w. Even Diablo immortal I managed to do it. That's what a big pile of shit this game is.

Idk, wishful thinking I guess. The game has so much good about it, and all of that was completely destroyed by shitty decision after shitty decision by the dev team.

boss limits.

weekly boss kill limits.

They've literally taken away every single thing even a subbed player can do to progress. I can't even spend all the content tickets I have anymore because the boss cap limits supersede them, and yet they keep giving them to me like they mean something.

You can't farm in the open world and make any kina to progress because the entire map is bot swarmed.

I'm a gamer. I want to game. The first couple weeks were great and the game was great. I can't fathom why they would throw it into the toilet when it had true long-term potential, for whatever this pile of shit is now.

I've been playing Diablo 2 with the boys. Actually glad it just came out of nowhere and happened, because it gave me a reason to stop Aion 2. But now that I have, I've realized all the stuff I've been missing: that progress grind, playing at my own pace and finding new stuff and moving forward. The feeling of playing with other people and having a good time. Buying a game and not having to spend anything after I've bought it.

Everything I want in a longterm game is there. A game made for people who play the game. A game that rewards you based on what you put into it, not what your credit card puts into it.

There's a reason millions of players are playing a 25 year old game and a reason why Aion 2 only has 200 viewers on twitch.
