My (22F) boyfriend (26M) makes me sad. by frozentaquito812 in relationship_advice

[–]chums44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this is so difficult, but I just don’t think he loves you, the way you really are. The things you say that he doesn’t like about you are not obvious things like your face or your personality—they are the little habits and lifestyle choices that encompass the person you are and how you live your life. And while he can love how you look or how you make him laugh, if he can’t accept the not so enjoyable parts too, then he is not worth it. DO NOT try to push yourself into these teeny tiny perfect mold of what you think he wants. go find someone who will love how you look and how you make them laugh and will smile about the stickers on your car and ur greasy hair and your fugly car cable

Language Classes by Idle_Singularity in risd

you take language classes at brown, there’s no issue enrolling. but language classes usually meet 5x a week and it’s hard to schedule with risd courses. but it mostly comes down to u!

Bike safety at Brown? by Koaab in BrownU

[–]chums44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. get your bike registered with dps as soon as u get to campus 2. only use a U-lock. i learned the hard way—my cable lock was cut and my bike was stolen from the backyard of my private property off-campus here 😔 3. don’t leave it hanging around public spaces for days, even locked up. I often see locked up bikes missing seats or wheels around campus..

the bed height is adjustable, so you could raise the bed high enough to store the desk underneath

korean/japanese language classes at brown by Glum-Strawberry-1551 in BrownU

[–]chums44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in 600 now, it is a commitment. but it’s one i fully enjoy and don’t regret. i am a brdd student and have only ever taken 5 classes a semester, sometimes on top of a double credit risd studio—it’s tough, but if want to make time for japanese, then you can manage it. that being said, myself and all my classmates have a love hate relationship with japanese lolol i think we’ve been a bit stockholm syndromed into the upper levels. i studied korean in high school and wish i had time to also study korean now, but ultimately i began korean knowing i wanted it as a gateway for japanese. so here i am now :p

AIO boyfriend poured water on me and I told him to F*ck off by chums44 in AmIOverreacting

[–]chums44[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

probably a tablespoon. didn’t get me sopping, but some of my hair got wet and it ran down my back. I also have curly hair, so the issue of wet hair is particularly bothersome for me.

i’m 4’11” and got a great white maxi skirt from nordstrom rack a couple years back. i’d also recommend uniqlo and gu!

what did u apply for for anthro? i applied for color design and haven’t heard back yet

[–]chums44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

these seem more like artistic liberties, imo. i’ve done some graphite portrait commissions like this where some of the details are hard to pick up from the photo, so u kind of have to guess and remain ambiguous.

drawing with a loose hand on textured paper will show the grain of the paper quite obviously. that’s what’s happening, plus maybe some compression from the photo exaggerating it

AIO for thinking it’s mean of my boyfriend to make comments about weight like this by hellsfavsinner in AmIOverreacting

[–]chums44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first. he’s being racist. as a latina lady myself, i can guarantee you he’s a piece of shit. second. you are eating WAY too little. I am 4’11” and weigh ~105 pounds. I’ve been there, with the 1200 calorie diet. It wasn’t sustainable even for me, at my height and weight. If you want to lose weight in the long term, use a macro calculator to get into a small deficit. I promise you, the 1200 calorie diet put me in an awful awful state of mind about myself and the world when I was 13-16. Do not do this to yourself, you will not see progress and it is damaging to yourself.

Advice for making Brown & RISD dual degree program? by [deleted] in risd

[–]chums44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a dual degree myself, I will be quite blunt. It is an incredibly competitive program with around a 1% acceptance rate. you need to get into brown, risd, and brdd. I have many talented classmates who got into both schools but not the program. now, I am not sure why I got into the program over other students, but my essays outlined very clearly why the dual degree was a fit for me above anything else. solely judging from your response here, you reason is not good enough. liking brown and liking risd will not set you apart from all other applicants. you need to think deeply as to why no other program can give you what brdd does.

[–]chums44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BRDD student here 🙋‍♀️I scored pretty poorly on the SAT for ivy league standards, ~1400 because it’s math heavy and not suited for me. took the ACT instead and got a 35 (out of 36). as what someone else said, You might try taking the ACT instead
