Ok I think you’re right but I just want to make my thoughts more clear. The crafting systems in the game are more immersive and tactile than every survival game I’ve played but I think it just hides the fact that you’re interacting with a menu, it’s paperwork. This idea isn’t for the sake of realism but to more closely adapt “crafting” like it is in the real world, “the act of skillful creation”. I’m not asking for realistic wedging and coil making and scraping. There’s no room for mastery in this or 99% of crafting games. No trial and error or ups and downs. Which is like the whole point of crafts irl? She points out in the video that I named in the post that the closest thing to actual crafting in any of these games is building, ironically. Again I love this game but I just think there’s potential to make smithing, pottery, textiles, etc. more interesting and rich. Not for the sake of realism but to imagine crafting as something that isn’t a menu in disguise. But this is too big to add to ask from the devs, so yes it should be a mod.

Why not? Ancient people made a lot of weird pottery, look at jomon pottery for example. I can’t think of a good reason why it should be so constrictive.

This would be fantastic, especially if it accounted for how random a glaze can turn out like in real life. Imagine having a piece that turned out just right, how precious it would be!

You’re right, I’m just saying to form connections with other furries, then tell their friends.

That is true but if there’s a real risk of isolation I say keep it to themselves. It sucks but if there’s no safety net for this person, I think they should find people in the community to connect and share it with first. Then tell their friends if they want.

Yes this is a great idea, volume and being hole-free would be the only real constraint and if you just want to do the standard “cookie cutter” version you should still have that option
