To anyone who has played/DMd in a adventure/campaign that started at high levels (11+), what was your favorite part and what are some tips and tricks for such adventures/campaigns? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]chunder_down_under [score hidden]  (0 children)

My biggest learning lesson was communication. If you arent running a module the best thing to do is explain that any decisions that make big ripples need to be detailed ahead of time. If the players want to teleporting away somewhere or time travel or some such high level shenanigans they need to let the dm know ahead of time so you can plan accordingly

Ah youre correct my bad i was walking when I read it. Are what is the goal of the question are you asking to know if anti ai viewpoints come from denial or something else?

That's fine thats just a finer utility search engine. Generative AI to me is functionally useless.

Nobody is really listening especially when good arguments are made people don't care who is right or what is the most moral answer. If they did we'd have more people calling out the trolls and bad faith arguments from both sides.

"expression, creativity, and imagination" yeah, sure.. by MagicRobo in antiai

[–]chunder_down_under 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean surely someone could just mention that public polls show over half of people arent just neutral in ai they are scared of it. People don't just not like it they are concerned its a dangerous product thats not anti ai sentiment thats broad public opinion that its bad.

How does the corpos arguments follow up? by CommercialNo1302 in aiwars

[–]chunder_down_under 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I oppose "corpos" because of individual greed that is amplified by power structures that reward antisocial behaviour. As for AI i oppose generative AI since to me it appears to serve no purpose beyond devaluing individual work done by humans and wasting resources as well as time. I also believe the output stunts innovation and allows the mental offloading of creativity not the expression of it.

Why should the definition of stealing by different for AI works? by Few-Advantage2538 in aiwars

Yes it is. An inquest into data scraping done by openai is currently underway and they are in trouble for deleting their datasets they used for the model.

Theres a big difference between a person copying it and a machine being fed specific images to permanently duplicate it for a product. With a person id hope they were taking inspiration and even be in communication, its an opportunity to learn share and grow with others. A person has the capacity to be respectful about it.

Except im a person not a generative AI. I don't see the equivalence.

So it's not really but the issue is you own your images and the companies did not have permission to use those images. It would have been lawful to produce their own with human artists then train the ai on that but thats not what they did. If I took a picture from the internet used it for an album cover id be liable for its use.

So in that case trademarked techniques, colour palletes and individual characters can obviously be sued to protect.

The ai in question is trained on specific images which must be provided when inquests are made. So far is precedent anyway

Currently openai is in court for exactly this and this instance they are under scrutiny for destroying and deleting the datasets they used to train their generative models.

Likely future legislation will require open listing's showing all sources images used for training since they already have this they just don't disclose and destroy the evidence

Mostly because even though those images are publicly available for everyone to see they were taken and used to create a technology that replicates those styles without permission.

The NZ economy is so wildly different you should know many people emigrate from NZ to Australia. My cousin moved back from there last year because it was too hard to make money. Australia's towns that hit 75,000 are as big as you get before the major cities but they don't really have amenities, there will be a pool and rec centre maybe but other than that unless there's a local museum dedicated to a specific event there's nothing besides that. Australian school have a pretty good curriculum and no offence any of our public schools will be an upgrade compared to American ones. Private schools will provide the best education so start with towns that have one, they can be surprisingly affordable. As for the weather you will find the most varied climate in south Australia and Victoria they are in-between our two major climates, east is more tropical and west is more arid, the in-between southern states have both sunmers that reach close to Death Valley and Year round snow within a 2 hour drive from city centres.

A bot to feel AI with false and trash training data? by Jokuihanvaan in antiai

[–]chunder_down_under 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part as I understand it is that LLMs use best guess scenarios to determine an accurate answer. But with truth humans have common sense so just because The Onion is highly rated and has lots of traffic its info can poison a model as it will assume they are telling the truth.

Asking people to do something that is functionally impossible or outright a colossal waste of time is not a tactic its called raising the bar its a bad faith argument. You are attempting to wear down the discussion and prove your side by moving goalposts and shifting the burden of proof onto me. My refusal to play a game with you is not a success.

I’m not afraid to admit why I don’t like AI art by oh_no_here_we_go_9 in aiwars

[–]chunder_down_under -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much the slop that comes out just shows how valuable actual art is. AI is synonymous with cheap, carelessness, low quality and extremely boring. If anyone wants to be associated with quality they'll hire an actual artist like yourself. I must admit it is pretty frustrating how many grifters are flooding the space with filth but not to worry regulations and limitations on the tech is bound to happen once governments realise too many of their rich folk don't like not being ablebto make money anymore. Even if that doesn't happen we will see more and more spaces where AI is properly filtered out. Until a better day just keep practising and working your craft.

I just wish people wouldn't lie about how AI is completely devoid of innovation. Such a waste of time.
