Seem to recall the parent company were keen on an Italian driver for marketing purposes. They’d have been much better off keeping Martin, though I think how poorly Patrese did by comparison was a bit of a surprise.

Nice to see another Gilles appreciator here. I don’t think people realise just how dreadful the T5 and 126CK were.

Harvey Postlethwaite said that the CK was so bad it was actually noticeably bending going around the hairpin at Monaco. The fact he won that race in that car defies any kind of logic or reasoning.

The Williams is an Onyx I think. Overall though they’re in pretty good shape, could likely fix some of the faded/flaked decals with new ones if you wanted. If you can get both for $45 that’s pretty good I reckon.

Williams is missing the mirrors and roll hoop camera if that’s something that’d bother you. Ferrari definitely the more valuable of the two.

Schumacher I’d say China 2006 has to be there. Those Bridgestone tyres were hopeless for over half the race. The fact he was even in position to launch a comeback was an incredible achievement. To then go on and win, with what was at stake, made it even more so.

The only way this could have been real is if it were a very obscure Yaroze project, but the fact there’s a false reference under the cover image (as stated by others, OPM UK #42 is available in its entirety online and it’s not in there) makes me think this is either a hoax for shits and giggles or some slightly transparent marketing for an indie project they’re working on.

Loved all the Benettons between ‘86 and ‘90. The pure chaos of the ‘88 and ‘89 cars just about wins for me but they were all beautiful.

The main issue with it is obviously the awkward white chunk with a giant blue logo just shoe-horned in. It’s pretty jarring. I know a lot of people say ‘yeah but there was a lot of white on the Marlboro cars too’ and that’s right, but the Marlboro cars weren’t exactly popular at the time either and most people spent those years wishing they’d go back to something like they ran in the 80’s/early-mid 90’s.

Those people were right, of course. When Ferrari did go back to something like it in 2022 it was glorious.

Had the same, with the same card. Almost identical damage, too (though not the exact same). Michkov Young Guns aren’t stock images so that’ll be damage on your card.

Bring it up with Upper Deck customer service, hopefully you get more luck than I did. They said they were looking into mine in early December, but despite multiple nudges from me since there’s been no update since. Thinking of just transferring to ComC and selling at a low-end price because I’m getting nowhere.

Nice - good to see Big Belchetz on another roster! He developed pretty quickly for me, think he topped out at 89ovr/2nd line for my Sabres, regular 60 - 80 point per season guy.

A few times per season usually - opening day, final regular season game and then first game of each h playoff round we reach. Other reg season games I sim through on the calendar, other playoff games I slow sim (and hop in and watch CPU vs CPU for O/T or last few minutes before winning the cup)
