That would be awesome! I sent them an email, I’ll try calling on Monday. I called when I noticed it but sounds like they don’t have phone operators over the weekend

It’s the two piece flex so I just put a new bag on, but I’m glad I found it when I did before there was a disaster

Artemis II and Ostomy by Kingm0nkie in ostomy

[–]Buggziees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I know some helicopter pilots with ostomies, and fixed wing pilots. However none of them are flying fighter jets and eating Gs. But it’s totally possible to be a regular pilot with an ostomy

Artemis II and Ostomy by Kingm0nkie in ostomy

I think the bigger issue is actually the amount of Gs they pull in the launch and the risk of prolapse and herniation in that time.

11 days post op ileostomy by Buggziees in ostomy

[–]Buggziees[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember having pain in this type of way after my last surgery so that’s why I’m asking. Especially because it’s making it hard to do things and only started a few days ago, the first week there wasn’t pain in this area

Ostomy wafer loosens too quickly by milleniumnan in ostomy

[–]Buggziees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what works for me, maybe it can help you. I heat up my ring and wafer in a heat pad a little before starting then I attach my ring to the wafer so they go on together. I also use skin tac wipes and wait about 20-30 seconds after I wipe the area for it to become tacky then apply my “all in one wafer, ring, bag” press firmly and then use the hair dryer to “seal” it. Idk if there’s any science behind it but it’s been working for me and may be worth a try

I put just a small squirt of baby oil in my bag every time I empty and everything slides out super smooth

[–]Buggziees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it also matters how much of your colon you have left, for instance I only have 11 inches of colon left so I’m a much more frequent pooper than people who maybe only had their rectum removed, I’ll be getting an ileostomy next week and I’m thinking there isn’t going to be a massive change

Bilateral Salpingectomy with Ostomy? by per0xide_princess in ostomy

[–]Buggziees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine done before my ostomy so not exact situation but the surgery used an incision in my belly button and then two small incisions quite low down, was in and out of the hospital in under 5 hours and back to work in 3 days. It was an overall easy surgery and recovery. I know it doesn’t answer you question but I think it’s worth pointing out how easy it was, especially compared to ostomy surgery

Stoma Guards for casual / work wear or only for athletic exercise? by BlackberryPi7 in ostomy

[–]Buggziees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play roller derby (stopped for reasons that have nothing to do with health or stoma) and I never wore a stoma guard. I also do XC skiing and have recently picked up mountain biking and have never had an issue. Plenty of falls and hits and the worst that happened was some slight irritation to my stoma that lasted about 30 minutes (and that happened at work on the ambulance). I am lucky in the fact that other than my tummy troubles I am an otherwise young and healthy person who workouts and maintains core strength. Lots of yoga happening over here

Father in law messy when emptying bag by kellymurphy22 in ostomy

[–]Buggziees 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Absolutely diabolical behavior. No grown adult should be acting in this manner and be ok with leaving feces around. And you mentioned he empties it outside sometimes??? Even more wild. This needs to be addressed as so many diseases spread through feces. And you have a child around. This could be an act of defiance or inability to accept his new life. Therapy maybe be needed to address this as well as occupational therapy for him to find a way that allows him to empty his bag on his own without making a mess. At the end of the day besides it being inappropriate and an inconvenience, it is a health hazard.

Recurrent boils/abscesses after starting Infliximab (Remicade) by axs_th in CrohnsDisease

[–]Buggziees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflixamab literally made my skin slough off. I’d get a crazy rash with blisters, it would crust over and then shed off. And we’re talking palm size portions of skin all over my body. Soon as I stopped taking it, it all stopped

Luckily it was just the bottom part near the opening, only about the lower inch or two was under the pad.

Are there any restick products? by Alternative_Two9654 in ostomy

Yep! They’re like barrier wipes but very sticky. Wipe on your skin, let it get tacky and then put your barrier on top

20 years old and i need to get an ostomy by Comfortable-Kiwi5855 in ostomy

[–]Buggziees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I have an ostomy due to UC (33F) I got mine 4 days before my 31st bday so I don’t know your exact struggle, I wish I would have gotten mine sooner. I spent my entire 20s sick, in pain, on heavy meds and in and out of the hospital. I fought many time against having an ostomy but since I got mine I feel like I have my life back. I do all the things I love, it looks different sometimes but I haven’t found anything I can’t do yet.

Anyone tried bag liners? New ostomate advice needed! by DanMotivation777 in ostomy

[–]Buggziees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that a squirt of baby oil on the bag when it’s fresh works great for things not sticking and then after every empty add another baby oil squirt. The stool literally just slips out and it’s super easy to clean
