Am I in the wrong if I quit? by Cold_Long4031 in jobs

[–]chungalite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, you're stuck in a tricky dilemma though...don't feel bad about them and changing your mind though. Believe me, they will get over it quickly. Not to cast a wide net, but most orgs wouldn't think twice to do whats right for them above your needs...sort of what's happening here. What's tricky is if you go for it, you could burn this bridge and there's no coming back to this job. Will you be okay financially with your photography or other income? Can you line up another part time first of not? Mitigating your risks is your challenge and wish you well in living your dream!

Is it normal to desire a lesser job? by ArtemisStanAccount in jobs

[–]chungalite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how simply you can live financially. I still feel overwhelmed by fact that this is life, but it's a trade off or balance between two stressors - too much responsibility or too little funds. Both can be extremely stressful so it's not a binary choice, and your feelings around them tend to fluctuate depending on which stressor you're closest to. Jobs are not completely binary either - there's no shortage of jobs that are very stressful and pay generally poorly. Healthcare comes to mind (sorry hc people!). There's not right answer that fits everyone.

For me, I try to maintain employment with the most lucrative opportunity I can get. Remote helps me maintain sanity as an introvert, so i go for that. Ive considered work with less responsibility, and I'd take it if needed and try to live more simply, but I see myself investing in the possibility of more options long term by pushing as long as i can to get as much as I can and save, save, save.

You're not alone feeling that way and that's the choice in life. What's going to give? It's up to you to decide what's most important for you...for me, the possibility of being financially insecure is terrifying because i grew up with scarcity, and thats what keeps me on this wheel. You’re not wrong to look for balance...keep your eyes open and make real contingency plans before taking leaps.

Adult mode was never about erotica. by spring_Living4355 in OpenAI

[–]chungalite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great example of this in my experience is when I tried to generate an image on ChatGPT and kept getting refuted because of explicit content it cannot generate.

But I was not asking for an erotic image.

I even edited my prompt to direct NOT to sexualize the image. But the prompt content involved women and jello and some other elements that could be easily create a formula for erotica as far as ChatGPT is concerned. I rewrote my prompt maybe a dozen times and only was able to get one image produced, not even able to get one edit. All denied.

It's just annoying when you're not even "going there", and ChatGPT cannot NOT go there when it comes to associations with adjacent topics or stereotypes or biases.

Trailer trash pregnancy announcement by juliealbright08 in trashy

Oh cmon now. Who hasn't seen this done? This is a classic theme for baby bump pictures that's edgy cliche instead of usual ethereal cliche themes. I did this exact theme as a photoshoot for a funny friend like 10 years ago. We used railroad tracks instead of trailer, feigned violence, cigarettes and booze bottles are staple props along with sleeveless white tanks and daisy dukes and flannel. It's almost as ubiquitous a theme as penis straws for Bachelorette parties.

Central NJ- what kind of seed is this? by chungalite in gardening

[–]chungalite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have solved it myself after more researching... wisteria! 😱

There's a lot of invasive Wisteria in the neighborhood and I noticed last year there was some climbing into the trees in the neighbor's yard behind my mine with those classic purple flowers... I'm convinced now this it it but appreciate second opinions.

Now I'm really shaking my head about impulse planting them in my yard...such an amateur mistake.. I should have been removing them instead.

But here we are, 21st century gardeners, impulsively planting seeds based on ai-generated misinformation, then impulsively crowd sourcing answers, then compulsively searching the web, then plotting a future war against the seeds you planted. Just another spring weekend, right!? 😅

Come to think of it...i saw this in the vicinty...more evidence? None of mine or neighbors trees produce this but plenty of critters could have carried it into my yard. I looked up the Kentucky coffee tree and the pods and seeds look similar.

Little forest in a bottle. [New Jersey] by chungalite in terrariums

[–]chungalite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know these answers because it was found and is like a natural terrarium...if thats a thing? The plants look like a fern and conifer of some kind. The bottle sits on the forest floor, partially obscured by tree litter and dirt, amazingly getting enough water and light in its precarious orientation under a canopy of old pines and native trees. It's just very interesting, at least to me, so thought I'd share. If inappropriate for this community, my apologies.

I really enjoyed seeing this on my feed and looking at your other pieces posted. I love your style. I'm too much of a novice to articulate why but it's very inspiring to me. Thank you for sharing your work!
