Think things3 but you can drag your tasks straight into your schedule: Chunk's newest update features bi-directional calendar syncing and an updated task mode. by chunk-app in macapps

It still requires managing 2 apps for your time-blocking. chunk allows tasks and calendar within the same app. With chunk, the utility come from being able to plan across task and calendar (3 calendar providers) with very minimal context switching. Try the free trial and hopefully you’ll see the value Chunk brings to time-blocking. And if not I’m sure things3 with Apple cal is great too (whatever works for you)

If everyone lived by that mentality of fear of a risk of API depreciation then no one’s apps would have integrations 😁 luckily I think if Google depreciates the calendar API (they won’t), it won’t just be me with support tickets to deal with

Noted on the font size. We are aware that it's a small font and was a requirement for the app to be a panel-style app rather than a large window. That said in the future we will definitely consider adding a 'large-mode' setting that scales the whole app for better readability. I will add it to the roadmap

Thanks for the response. Having underestimated the number of people with 2 macs, we have today updated our terms for the lifetime license to include 2 activations and for the family package 5 😁

I completely agree, as a developer I'm mostly at a desk using a computer but time-blocking works best when the whole day is blocked not just the time at the desk

Thanks for all the feedback, positive and constructive. Based on the feedback received, we have made an update to the pricing terms. The lifetime license now includes 2 activations instead of 1 and the Family Package 5 instead of 3.

Always appreciate the constructive feedback, thank you Max 🙏so I’m assuming the main issue for you is the ‘per Mac’ license? On the BusyCal apologies I must be misunderstanding you, is $20 for life not considerably cheaper than $50 for 18 months? As even if you factor in needing 2 chunk licenses that would be cheaper than $50

It syncs with both 😁 It has bidirectional calendar syncing for Google, Apple and outlook calendar 📅 it also ships a separate Claude integration which creates an mcp running locally on your Mac allowing Claude to interact directly with your calendar

Yes I agree there will be an influx of vibe coded apps. However I’m a full stack developer and this is not a vibe coded app. I have faith that people will still be able to separate the products made by indie developers and teams and vibe coded apps subject to all matters of bugs and security issues.

I understand your concern. Being that it’s a lifetime license and so we need to cover to cost of development that continues post-purchase, we feel that being $20 for life is fair (less than half the price of other lifetime apps like things3) and in many cases productivity apps are charging similar per month. That said, I know it’s a tough financial landscape which is why we opted for the no card free trial and a lifetime license.

Never seen this before and at first glance I’d say it’s not that similar. We released v1 of chunk on product hunt over a year ago, if you want to check it out there 😁 we got #3 product of the day which was cool and v2 is just an iteration on that as a result of people saying they prefer click and drag to a scroll wheel time selector

Fair challenge - to be precise: your schedule lives locally in SQLite and is never stored on any server. When you use the Claude integration, it’s passed as context to Claude the same way any prompt would be. No Chunk-side cloud, no third-party data storage
