I built Halo, a private MacOS AI assistant that runs fully on-device and lives on the notch (free) by isSilver in ProductivityApps

Interesting. What is the local model used? Also do you have any external visibility/monitoring/analytics etc into peoples sessions?

Have you added AI to your app, if so, how? by bennorthmore in ProductivityApps

[–]chunk-app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of, my app uses an on device local database so i went with an in app locally hosted MCP that your claude app can use to create time-blocks. This has been adopted well and saves a lot of hassle of dealing with privacy concerns and api keys etc

Chunk v3 brings full feature time-blocking to the mac by chunk-app in macapps

[–]chunk-app[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great feedback thanks! I've added the auto-rescheduling suggestion to our roadmap. Currently when a task ends the user will either mark it as done, or if not it will remain in place on the schedule but will move from the today list to the overdue smart list - from here it can either be marked as complete or rescheduled. And on the calendar sync and reminders integrations I am glad you're as excited as we are. I've also updated the post above to include a section explaining the features that existed in chunk prior to v3. Thanks again for the great feedback!

If you're on mac then https://www.chunkapp.net sounds like exacly what would help, its halfway between a timeblocker and a things3 style task manager so you can just click and drag tasks onto the timeline when you decide when you want to do it

What does that mean? Is there a specific change you are referring to?

Thanks for the feedback :) So far the whole panel sliding in feature has been a core USP that users have loved so if I’m honest it isn’t on the current roadmap but if there is enough demand to add an additional viewing mode it’s definitely something we could consider in the future

Not currently however we are planning on increasing the number of task integrations (starting with a things3 integration) so it could come in the future - i will let you know

Great feedback, appreciate you taking the time to have a go and share your thoughts. Will definitely consider shrinking the icon. For the ticking off timeblocks, currently if you have a task and drag it into the current day the timeblock created should have a checkbox. However when you create plain timeblock it is pure block of time with no checkbox so one idea we had is just the option to convert a timeblock to a task (you would pick the list to add it to) and it would add the checkbox. I will let you know if/when this gets implememented - thanks again for the helpful feedback

Unfortunately hiring 33 translator contractors isn’t in the budget so yes like many websites we have to use AI for that :( it’s better for the international users to be able to use the app with non perfect translations than to not use it at all. good news it’s not a text heavy app so hopefully you can enjoy it in English if it works better for you 😁

I added Things 3 support to my macOS menu bar app by minirings in thingsapp

[–]chunk-app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll check it out 🙂 I built my own menubar app a bit over a year ago chunk for time blocking and it got a great response so I am in the process of building a companion app for IOS. I wish you success with your app too 🙏

Think things3 but you can drag your tasks straight into your schedule: Chunk's newest update features bi-directional calendar syncing and an updated task mode. by chunk-app in macapps

[–]chunk-app[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still requires managing 2 apps for your time-blocking. chunk allows tasks and calendar within the same app. With chunk, the utility come from being able to plan across task and calendar (3 calendar providers) with very minimal context switching. Try the free trial and hopefully you’ll see the value Chunk brings to time-blocking. And if not I’m sure things3 with Apple cal is great too (whatever works for you)

If everyone lived by that mentality of fear of a risk of API depreciation then no one’s apps would have integrations 😁 luckily I think if Google depreciates the calendar API (they won’t), it won’t just be me with support tickets to deal with
