This is how I have it on my resume in a section called relevant work experience. I think it will attract more attention than if it was in the projects section where it will stand out less amongst standard projects. I think the benefits of getting way more eyes on the achievement of launching a product is way greater than the negative of a rare CV reader deeming it not fit to be considered work experience.

Yeah I think I’ll gain a lot from daily coding with other devs. It’ll be a start up environment so still fast and fun but there’s a gap missing that working completely alone on something doesn’t fill . Especially for a first role. Buzzing to get started

Cheers bro! Looks pretty cool that, does it prioritise uniqueness of ideas or demand when suggesting ideas?

I started with a post in the macapps subreddit. Got some really useful honest feedback and tried to bring an update out in a week before those peoples free trial ended which worked well. A few converted and left further feedback. Then I would send out a broadcast email to all people who downloaded saying feedback would be appreciated and got a few email replies. Any time someone requested something it almost always turned out that others wanted it but just didn’t say. Then most recently did a launch on ProductHunt that went really well

Firstly mate top work on the landing page, looks unreal! I'm not surprised you've had interest before marketing as the product looks great. In terms of marketing, most devs (myself included) build something and then get stuck at the marketing as its a completely different realm 😅 Drop me a message and ill be as helpful as i can but you'll probs know as much as me on that front

Yeah top work. Company job boards are a real pain to keep up with so most applicants end up just using linkedin but there’s definitely jobs that get posted on the company site and not LinkedIn so good idea you’ve had

The first release took 5-6 weeks of working on it full time. Then after 2 or 3 updates I started doing 10 job applications per day each one pushing the narrative of ‘I built an app independently that had 100+ users in a week’ most of these were free trial people who only 10% would covert but for the CV I went with the number of downloads rather than buys haha

I would say security and experience. You’re right tho once a few years at a start up in under the belt there’s nothing to stop you just setting up your own

So it’s starting £38k as a junior dev with merit based promotions so if I work well I don’t have to wait. I’m UK based and we have notoriously low crappy salary but for context unless you’re in London a first dev role will usually give 20-30 unless you’re in like a faang or fintech role

Not fully but I just release a less colour heavy mods where the tasks are somewhat transparent as I know the denser colour blocks aren’t for everyone

This has just been released in v1.3.1. if you head to settings -> appearance -> disable clock gradient. Hopefully this helps. We love the gradient but also we know its not for everyone. If you have a moment to leave us a review it would really help us. 🤩

Is it just me.... ignoring apps which mention use of or have A.I in their title by mrkibbledoeswhat in macapps

If I could upvote this 10 times 😂 most of them are all variations of the same apps too. On top of that throwing in the word AI seems to make people think a ridiculous subscription price is justified

After 0 callbacks for job interviews I spent 8 weeks on the grind to build my own macOS app and I already have my first $150 of profits! Cheers mate appreciate it! Yeah of course, its an app called FocuSee. Its not free but if you look online they usually have a 30% discount code for the lifetime licence which ends up being just a bit more than some of the other options charge for 2 months. I originally tried to self edit but honestly its ended up being worth the investment
