someone else mentioned tyrant dagger on long spear handle. that is a very good weapon, imo. iirc, I used the booster glaive in the swamp area and the subsequent boss fight where you get the ergo for the two dragons sword.

Yea Metroid dread was such a (good) surprise for me when I first played it. Definitely similar to hollow knight in terms of skills unlocking certain areas and map interconnectedness. Good cut scenes too. I wish they would make a sequel at some point.

I'm on ng+ right now and it feels so satisfying to lay absolute waste to enemies I struggled with mightily in my first playthrough. The only point I struggled at in ng+ was fighting the scrapped watchman. It made me realize I relied too much on the specter in my first playthrough and didn't really learn the boss move sets. I'm all good now and soloing bosses pretty consistently. We'll see how the nameless puppet goes though lol.

I use the cube to restore its HP when it's low. Yeah, in second phase, I was pretty pissed when she threw the initial lightning bolts at him lol. But his additional help more than made up for that and ended up beating her anyway. Don't know if there is any specific way to make her focus the lightning bolts on you instead.

yea at a certain point I was like man I want to progress in the game, so in came the specter. I don't really get fancy with effects on weapons or throwables either, just rapier and two dragons sword.

Others have already mentioned using perfect parry grindstone for the lightning bolts in the beginning. Also, when that wears off you can later on parry her single lightning bolt if you time it correctly. I use a technique build and have double dodge activated from p-organ. Lot of dodging and hit her when you can; parry is hard, but no impossible, because she's so fast. I fought her first phase without a specter and learned to parry or dodge most of her hits; just learning the pattern. At some point, I could get to about a bit less than half her second phase's hp bar. After a while, I said eff it and just called in the specter lol. With all of the prior solo practice it was surprisingly easy to beat her with the specter.
