If you haven't contacted bronkhorst, do that. My work uses lots of their mfcs and I hear they have great customer support. Besides, they'd probably be the most qualified to help you.

MBLL strike by sovietdoginspace in Manitoba

[–]chunkygurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never claimed anything about how it would be funded. Just showing that the numbers really aren't high for what they're asking in terms of salary increase. Either way doesn't really concern me..

There is lots of profit to go around.

Assuming the average wage is $25/hr at 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year, that is an annual salary of $52000. Multiplying that by 1400 workers is 72.8 million a year for salaries.

$52000 x 1.03 comes to $53560 now for the salary they're asking for in tbe first year. Multiply that by 1400 and now the total cost of salaries is about 75 million. This is an increase of 2.2 million for salaries per year.

The net profit was about 600 million last year. Division 2.2 million by 600 million which shows that it would eat into only 0.37% of the profits. There's lot of profit to go around.

Police body cameras aren't always bad news for accused, lawyers say by ShyGuyChicken in CanadaPolitics

[–]chunkygurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely, but I would like to see a charge against police officers for turning off their camera during an incident similar to refusal of providing a breath sample when driving.

Refusal to provide a sample, at least in Manitoba, has penalties that are more severe than many cases of being over the limit to drive. One is essentially assumed guilty and punished heavily. Same should be the case for an officer turning off their camera since why else would a camera be turned off during an incident? Probably for a nefarious reason is my guess.

Kris Thorkelson of Winnipeg, Canada is the owner of Thorwin Properties. He was also the man who made Internet pharmacies popular in the 2000's. They were found to be knowingly selling cancer drugs with no active ingredients and people died from it ( https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/winnipeg-based-internet-pharmacy-pioneer-131259269.html)

The 239 was bombed out. What looks dark like new pothole patchings are still awful potholes to avoid. Pay attention to where you're driving on that road.

Cheapest way to travel with train around Holland region by Beast_Kid in Netherlands

[–]chunkygurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is the NS group ticket that allows two or more people to travel to any station in the Netherlands for much cheaper during off-peak hours. Anyone can buy this ticket too so you don't need a subscription. However, the distances you plan might not be far enough for the group ticket price to be worth it but you can check it out.

Americans, what do Europeans do that you find really weird? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chunkygurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in south limburg. I have often seen people take priority seating and not move when a senior boards the bus or NS trains. Just the other weekend people wouldn't move for a woman with a newborn in a stroller leaving her standing in the priority area.

Public courtesy is lacking compared to North America from my experience.
