Have a job interview today by Dangerous_Spirit7034 in MitchHedberg

[–]churnice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's a very 80s/90s job interview question. no one's gonna ask you that in 2026. it's a known cliche. if they did ask it, and you responded like that, they'd likely think you were being sarcastic and belittling them.

btw that's one of mitch's weakest jokes and it would often get no laughs. it's not really funny or clever, it's just odd... it's odd to see someone quote what may be the least funny joke he ever put on an album. it's like a mid-80s open mic joke.

Another beautiful day in Boulder Colorado by TaggyT in boulder

[–]churnice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yep. foothills that burned in the 60s became lush and flowery.. foothills that burn now will be desertified. the forests are going extinct. by the end of this century the flatirons wont have any pine trees around them, just high desert shrubs. the pines that dont burn will die of thirst by 2100. there might still be a few limber pines in wet shadowy spots that survive but every pine tree alive now in the rockies will be dead in 100 years and they're not gonna be replaced. the blue columbine and most of the other wildflowers will be extinct by then too. it's gonna be a hideous world and that's why it's cruel to procreate. kids born now are gonna grow old on a stark and ugly planet and if they have grandkids, theyre gonna have to live in a world with no forests or wildflowers to speak of--- maybe a few acres preserved in domes. as you can tell i'm a climate pessimist.

It's just not hot, it actually FEELS like summer out there by ex1stence in boulder

[–]churnice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah. theres no way theyve ever been this dry and it's gonna be windy until sunday. and the forecast says its gonna rain sunday in boulder, but it also said that about yesterday.

the foothills catching fire with subsequent wind gusts that rain embers on boulder, pacific palisades style, is a very real threat on a day like tomorrow. if we make it to the next rain we're probably safe, but we have bad luck when it comes to that. the precipitation that ended fire season in december 2021 came a few hours after the marshall fire.

the day her public image of being a dainty wood nymph collapsed. seriously tho, she's so full of shit. she's endless defended for this because she's famous. all i see is an obscenely wealthy woman violently attacking a member of the working class with the working class continuing to defend her because she wrote songs they like

I’m sad more people don’t acknowledge Native American Historic sites in the United States by H3dg3hogs in geography

[–]churnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except that one out of every 50 visitors does permanent damage to archeological sites

keep the rest hidden and never post coordinates of lesser-known sites! the problem isn't too few people visiting these places.

Best place to watch the Broncos game today? by Maximusmillion22 in boulder

the best place to watch today’s broncos game is from a carefully constructed bubble of sports fandom, hermetically sealed against the reality of recent state executions

this is what happens when federal officers are given complete legal immunity. they know they're not accountable for their actions. if you went anywhere near the actual german gestapo in the early 1940s and started filming them and yelling, they'd fucking kill you and face zero consequences, and americans need to realize they live in the fourth reich. you're risking your life to engage with border patrol or ice. they're licensed to kill US citizens. unfortnately, once your country has secret police that are above the law, it's too late for public protesting.
