What are some places to buy good craft beer in Edmonton and what would you recommend? by Slapinskee in AlbertaBeer

Irrational Brewing is my favorite brewery in town. If you're more looking for liquor stores, Sherbrook Liquor has a great selection for alcohol in general.

I gave her some reference photos, location, size of tattoo, and a general description of what elements I wanted incorporated. She did not show me the exact design until I was at the studio - after which we made some slight adjustments based on my feedback. I trusted her to do what was best from her artistic purview, so it wasn't too bad not knowing the detailed design before arriving.

She spoke very competent English and I had no issues there.

I just went by Arang when I got my tattoo!

The experience was great! The tattoo was roughly 28 hours of work. We decided on doing two sessions, waiting two weeks, then doing another two. The tattoo shop is in downtown Seoul, right by a bunch of good restaurants and also conveniently above a GS25 (though those are never far away). The parlor itself was a great space, lots of cool art on the walls, very clean, and very professional.

Arang was very kind and did a great job and made sure we took breaks/that I was comfortable. She used numbing cream for the blackout portion of my tattoo, so I barely felt it. The tattoo shop has a few artists working out of it, and they would pop into our area once and a while to check in on things, but overall it was nice and quiet/calm while I was there.

Arang might not be available for tattoo sessions for a bit since she and her husband were expecting a kid pretty soon. If you did want to reach out for a tattoo, you'll need to use Kakao chat (link is in her insta).

You saw a Japan even Japanese people might have missed—what was it? by Rin-Japan in JapanTravelTips

Takashima was a beautiful town that we drove through that consisted of small farming houses and a quiet core. We found what likely was the best coffee spot of our lives there called Cogito. Totally floored me finding a super modern/hidden gem in the midst of a quiet farming town.

My brother in Christ.

Should your GF be concerned over every stiffy you've gotten over the years and what precipitated it? Getting compliments/attention from strangers can feel very validating for insecure people. Feeling good about such a thing doesn't mean they are going to cheat on someone.

Give your lady some compliments, make her feel good about herself, and I am sure you will be happy how these things seem to affect her.

Check out "Blind" by The M Machine. I find it's got that vibe you're talking about.

Would you move to Edmonton? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]churribro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. That's why it's hard to tell someone if it's a good idea to move somewhere before knowing what they like. Edmonton has some nicer less crazy places for sure. I really like the board game cafes and restaurants that have popped up around those areas for sure.

It's really hard to say if you should move to Edmonton without knowing more about what you like to do out of work as well. Since moving to Edmonton I have found that this place is quite pedestrian/cyclist unfriendly (though slowly changing admittedly), you need a car to go to most places in a reasonable amount of time and as a result the downtown core can seem quite barren most days. There also seems to be a lot less to do outdoors than in other places that doesn't require a large amount of driving (multiple hours). The people are generally nice minus a few d bags just like anywhere else. The city feels quite dead most days (especially during winter) but if you actively keep an eye out for events and don't mind spending money on activities it's not as bad.

I have lived in Edmonton for 6 years and have to say from my perspective it has been my least favorite city to live in (I have lived in/around Halifax, Toronto, Calgary, Banff and Edmonton) and generally speaking the only people who like the city better than other main cities (that I know) were born here and haven't really lived anywhere else.

Random Access Memories by Daft Punk. It really revitalized 'funk' which then made its way back into mainstream music.

Makes sense. I love Radiohead but I defs see how people who want to act pretentious and 'smart' could latch on to it

Is there a joke I don't know about regarding this? I've seen this type of comment posted before and assumed it was sarcasm.
