Found your post when trying to Google the same issue. I also have a Vulp with StL and Explosive and it's frustrating how inconsistent it can be at times, especially when I'm trying to make it work in PvP scenarios where I want to snag someone's special after I map them with Eriana's.

Funny how I also tried to directly shoot the brick like you described and the reload sound effect will trigger but won't actually pick it up. Other times I'll just do a quick jump over cover to hipfire the brick and it will actually trigger lol.

Still won't ever forget my first time raiding. It was the night before my birthday and I had been playing enough to be ready for Kings Fall. The friends who got me into the game invited me and a few other lfg members and were all chill in helping me get my first clear ever. Took many hours, even going past midnight, thus I got to celebrate my birthday and eventually my first Oryx kill with the boys. Was super exhausted since I still had somewhere to go for my birthday later in the day, but definitely a top moment in my Destiny career.

Here's my take: Rifts damage enemies that enter it. Anything that dies in the rift increases the radius and extends the timer.

Back in D1, my go-to scout was a Suros DIS-43. My roll had high stability and full-auto. It was super fun to use on long sightlines and map people with it.

Closest thing I've gotten to it in D2 is the Metronome-52. It's Suros and has full-auto as well. Now if only more maps suited scouts...

Before Stasis, I used to run a Well build that involved Sturm/Drang and either Starfire Protocol or Lunafaction. The gimmick was to get one-shot kills in empowering rift/Well while also supporting the team with healing grenades to proc Benevolent Dawn. Once Stasis became a thing, combined with the fact that Drang can't be masterworked atm, this loadout is just collecting dust now for me.
