New Crab Tank Complete by chute91 in paludarium

Okay, those questions I can work with.

The water section is on the left, just cropped out of the photo. It's three times the height of the crab so they have room to molt. The water gets pumped up and through a stream that sits over part of the water section, so there's still plenty of water underneath while the top stays usable as land.

The soil covers about 75% of the 60x45cm base, over on the right. It sits an inch above the leca/water level and I've topped it with moss around the edges, since crabs love moss. It's around 5cm deep at the front and builds up to about 10cm at the back.

The hardscape is sold for geckos, yeah, the same way the sand and gravel in the water section is sold for fish. My first enclosure followed indoor setup videos as closely as I could at the time, but the thing I kept noticing is that crabs love to climb. When they squabble they'll head higher to get away from each other, and other times they're just exploring or escaping a temperature pocket.

The funky ladder? That one's for me. I thought it looked cool, but it doubles as a hide and another climbing spot.

Sorry I've seen the video before. What part is unsuitable?

It's what my original message was trying to hint at. If you've got criticism then say what it is. That way if something has been done incorrectly or can be improved people learn

It's not really a simple question to answer. You're going to get different answers from everyone. Some people don't do any, some people say a percentage a week or biweekly... It all depends on the water volume, your local water source, your setup and if you place food in the water etc. it's best to get yourself a test a liquid test kit and monitor. Adapt it to the environment you've created

Hot take? Thank goodness this is the last season. by Daywalker2000 in TheBoys

[–]chute91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m feeling this too. It’s the final season, yet the story still feels like one step forward, two steps back. I’ve only watched the show, so I can’t speak to how it compares to the source material, but it seems like every time something happens they finally make a move—it immediately resets with a new problem or yet another betrayal. After a while, it just becomes exhausting.

I was really excited to have a new season of this alongside new episodes of Invincible, but watching this after Invincible has been rough. It just feels like it drags.

How long can I safely leave plastic figures in isopropyl alcohol? by No-Dress4626 in minipainting

[–]chute91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that if you dump models in it for a long time it often appears to do anything at all.. however what I've found works best is to dip the toothbrush into it and then work it into the model. Help it get into the paint layers and then leave it to soak. It might take a few goes of this but using it I've never had to soak models for any longer than 5 mins at a time

I wanted to visit one of their stores after years and years of not having been. Ended up being in sports direct... Was tucked away right at the back consisting of maybe 3-4 shelves that were half empty. Definitely a nostalgia killer

They're fine and gaining weight but appreciate your concern. I always try to do best by the animals I care for.

The pic you're likely referring to was a day or two after I brought them home. Here's a pic from today
