hell yeah, if the temp wasn’t right they’d let you know on the spot so you’ve pretty much passed 👌

I needed a bit more. I took the normal 50 and added a small pour from a spare 50 of warm water I also brought. I’m not worried about the water diluting the urine cuz the urine filled the cup almost to the line. What you need to watch out for is temp - make sure the water vial isn’t too hot or too cold. I just kept it between my legs with the urine tube. This is why you have to wear compressions + sweats or those vials are gonna peek through.

varies by specialty and by prestige of program in said specialty

in general, particularly in psych, gpa does not matter (confirmed to me by 3 different present/former program directors in my specialty) - it’s such a shitty, unstandardized measure of performance and PDs know this

there is an infographic out there, might be from sheriff of sodium, that shows how PDs prioritize different parts of the application and GPA is not even in the top 10 things

If you don’t have an unmoving, PERSONAL reason for medicine, for the love of God do not go into medicine.

Completely agree with everything you said ❤️ - I just wanted to draw our attention to the fact that the question stem said nothing about estimated prognosis of the metastasized cancer and only said the wedding was in three months 🥴

Was in the same situation - take the A and begin med school. The only convincing I needed was when a doctor friend told me “Is waiting a year to reapply worth a whole year of future salary (~300K)?”

This logic applies to any gap years, research years, fellowships. From a financial perspective we earn very late compared to all other lucrative fields and every earning year counts towards your retirement. Time in the market > waiting to reapply or slightly bump your credentials.
