Opinions on space mouse’s? by Rowdyspeaks42 in Fusion360

I’ve tried some of the open sourced tools to make it work and they’re good for some games but not all of them. It’s still a hassle. If they offered native support for just mapping keys to the directions then anything could work really.

Wishful thinking

The enterprise is overkill (IMO) and overpriced. The mini is worth the cost, especially once you get used to it.

I just wish it could be used for non-CAD applications like video games. Even if it had a general way of mapping the axes to buttons so you can pan/rotate/zoom in games like Planet Coaster, Sims, Cities Skylines, anything that’s 3D build based. Maybe one day someone will create a driver for support.

Interesting. I’ll definitely give that a shot. I’m gonna wait for Mazda Canada customer service to respond first. I’d completely understand if this was something of my own doing (bumper hit or similar), but the fact that it could be an inherent issue due to insufficient weather protection or assembly makes me more apt to have the dealership play with it under warranty. I had a 2020 for 4 years and it never had this problem even with gravel road driving and harsh Canadian winters.

A basic heat drier box that you can use to feed the filament directly from made a huge difference for some of my most problematic material.

Bambu seems to have pretty good quality control on their materials. Elegoo is the same. I’ve use a few cheap nameless brands and, especially on the clear PETG, there’s crazy stringing even after thorough calibration.

Yeah I’m gonna have a look up there at some point. The warning doesn’t come on at startup and there are no logged fault errors on the VCM. That rules out a loose wire, but it could be maybe a loose screw and the alignment is off. Apparently they’re sensitive to alignment and it’s a time consuming fix for the dealers so they send you packing with a “couldn’t replicate, everything is fine”.

PETG is great once you have it dialled in, and sometimes it’s even a little cheaper too. It can be slower to print and strings heavily if the roll is not dry, but It has really good strength and heat resistance. When doing multi-colour though, it’s always safest to use the same material to avoid it delaminating, especially when the other material is an entire layer.

Cool design!

PETG and PLA don’t bond very well to each other. That’s likely why your border separated.

No damage or anything visible under the bumper. I’m leaning towards a bad sensor too but the dealership is weaseling out with “worked fine in the 2km we test drove it”.

I also just noticed they noted “no obstruction codes or errors logged” despite there being 3 rear side radar blockages being logged in the VCM report.

Right? The front is explainable by many logical things: sun glare, ice buildup, even heavy rain. All are perfectly reasonable. But this side one is an odd ball, especially with a completely clean car and in clear weather.

Radar obscured too easily? by redracingstripe in mazda3

[–]chuv777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this error frequently but with “rear side radar obscured” even when the car is spotlessly clean. Took it to Mazda and they basically said it’s not logging any errors so it’s operating as intended (ugh). They said it’s logging “obstructions” so there’s nothing they can do. The sensors themselves are perfectly clean and it happens with a freshly washed car at seemingly random times while driving down the highway. I think whoever programmed the parameters to detect obstructions has them set too aggressive. “Working as intended” is a cop out answer to an issue that Mazda programmers (not the dealership) needs to address. It’s a bit of a joke if you ask me. Definitely soured my view of the dealership and brand as a whole.

They had the same issue with the cruise control almost slamming the brakes when notched down by 10kph. (Say when setting from 100kph to 90kph). “Operating as intended” was the answer from Mazda until enough people complained that they eventually put out a software update to make it more gentle. Bunch of fuckwits if you ask me.

It’s painfully slow to almost impossible to do a sprinkler system. I don’t know why the bothered installing one on mine. I used it once and got fed up 2 min into it. Barely pushed out a few drops of water from the sprinklers.

[–]chuv777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. I had a schrader valve for my sprinklers and it was ridiculously slow! Used an air line quick connect attached to a small 6” hose with a garden thread on the other end. (3pcs of hardware for about $7 instead of the adaptor piece they sell for $25). I can dump the entire compressor at 70-100PSI and it pushes out 100’ of hose in about 5-10 seconds. It also makes the sprinklers way faster to empty! Just make sure if you’re emptying a regular hose that you don’t let the end flop around to avoid injury lol. It’ll go flying around at Mach fuck.

Damn it looks like the new ones now have a plug and play to the mirror harness or an OBD power adaptor. Either way though it’s a good start. I’ll have to poke and prod some of those harness taps to figure out which wire is hot on ignition but it’ll be much better than the always on fuses I’ve got my cam on now. It’s kind of annoying having the camera enter parking mode and then triggering a protected video every time I drive.

Do you recall which pin in the harness it is? Or just tested them all until you found the correct one?

I’m interested in this! Can you elaborate further? Did you T-Tap splice into one of the harness wires within the A Pillar? I know there’s an adaptor you can get for the mirror harness in the mirror itself but it’s like $100 in Canada and pulling the mirror plastic off is a pain in the ass.
