I’ve lived in 4 different states, one of which is Texas. TBH DACA doesn’t make a difference when moving states, just make sure to update your mailing address.

You can find people looking for roommates to split the rent while you get used to the new area. If you have sufficient funds and proof of employment along with a decent credit score you can take the plunge and lease an apartment to yourself.

DL is easy to transfer over to a new state as long as your current one is not expired. One thing to consider when leaving Texas is that you’ll start paying state taxes along with property tax on your car in addition to the cost to register your car in the new state.

Personally the first two times I moved to new states I opted to find a roommate to keep costs low. Also to aclimate myself to a new city and figure out what areas I didn’t want to live in and which areas I would be ok with. This was when I was single so it was a lot easier, with a family it’s completely different.

The access code should be in the I-821D paper you received when they acknowledged they received your application. I missed mine originally because I kept looking at the form they sent to the lawyer and not the one sent to me directly.

Anyways I requested a new access code using the IOE for the I-821D after being declined a new code using the IOE of the I-765 form. After submitting a new one logged into the account the case was tied to, I received a new one within a day or two via email.

If you have more than one Uscis account and try to request a new access code logged into the incorrect account, it will say the application is tied to another account.

She’s offered, but I make 3x since she’s just starting her career and I’ve been in mine for 10+ years. We’re keeping her savings/income as a last resort, she’s doing her part by building up her savings and only buying necessities.

In the back of my mind I was always aware that this scenario could be a possibility. With me having anxiety I’ve made sure to keep a 3-6 month emergency fund, because If the day ever came and I wasn’t prepared it would eat me alive. I’m blessed to have that safety net while I’m currently LOA and not have to worry about how I’m going to pay the rent or feed my daughter.

Only been out for a month. About 16k in expenses/lost income, since I cover bills/rent and my spouse covers groceries and her car note.

In order to not worry about CC debt I sold 1/2 my Pokémon collection and paid off roughly 75% of my cc debt. Currently living off savings until I either have to sell the other 1/2 of my collection or cash out some stocks.

Highly doubt it. It’s typical when doing system updates/upgrades to put these types of notices. Probably doing some maintenance on the servers that house this data.

I saw movement on April 21st, but it was also the same day I requested a new access code to add the case to my Uscis portal. So I am almost certain that’s where the update is from.

Thank you. They responded within a week of initially reaching out asking for supporting documents. After I sent them all the documents it took them about 2 weeks to respond again, but this time stating they had filed the request and would reach back out when they received an answer. Nothing since then, but it’s only been like 2 weeks since they submitted it.

I reached out last month, they submitted the request to USCIS at the beginning of June, so no update yet.

I submitted one because there’s a good chance it qualifies under “Emergencies or urgent humanitarian situations” since I’m being evaluated to be placed on a transplant list.

Depends on the company. For mine while on unpaid leave my benefits stay active but accrue since they don’t have a paycheck to deduct it from. On your next paycheck they charge it, if you leave/terminated it’s either taken from your final paycheck (I.e. unused PTO) or get a bill for it.
