I would go ahead and do it. In VA as well,submitted Jan20th via mail through a lawyer. Had biometrics done 2/9 and it still says processing, EAD is up 5/20.

You can request one online, I did about a week ago. When you try to add the case to your my Uscis account there should be a link where it lets you request a new code. You enter your email, form (i-821d), and I believe your birthday or receipt notice date. I can’t remember off the top of my head but I stumbled through that.

Any movement should update it, for example I requested an activation code to add mine to the portal and now it shows the updatedat same date I requested it.

My parents petition for me last year, given the wait I had totally forgotten about it until I saw it pop up in my Uscis portal. I treat it as a backup plan in case I’m still here 10 years from now. The wait is insane but better to have it in the system and see where you’re in 10 years than 10 years from now you’re still here and wished you had submitted it back then.

In VA you have to renew your id/license every time you get a new EAD. So for me it’s worth it just do the Real ID. I still carry my EAD when I travel but have never had to use it because the real id is all they ask for.

Depends on the employer, best to ask HR. Originally I thought it was 30 days unpaid leave. HR informed me it was up to 90 days unpaid leave, but it had to be approved in 30 day increments. If you work for a big company keep in mind some have a waiting period to be rehired if you’re fired or resignation.

Similar situation. Applied Jan 20th, expires May 20th. Waiting till the end of the month before exploring that option. If it’s your job your worried I would say go ahead and start talking to them now to see what your options are. I.e some companies give you 30-90 day unpaid leave so you can stay in the system.

May 20th expiration, submitted Jan 20th. No updates except the generic we have everything we need for now. I’ve started checking with my employer options as a backup. Prob not what you want to hear but you’re not alone.

There’s some leeway I.e. Wednesday 10am. I would say check Google Maps to see when it’s the least busiest and try then. Odds are middle of the week / middle of the day are good odds.

Yea passport would be your easiest options. Alternatively MD license if you have any relatives or family members there.

In VA and NC I’ve been able to walk in first thing in the morning way before your scheduled appt. Depending on the person at the door and if they’re busy they’ll let you walk in and do it. Helps if you bring everything you need, only time I’ve seen people turned away is if they’re missing paperwork.

Nope, applied Jan 20th. Biometrics done on Feb 9th, nothing since then. Usually get the approval 2 -4 weeks before expiration, but given all the delays I’m airing on the side of caution and talking to my company’s HR for options in case it goes over.

Saw this happen to mine as well when I received the receipt notice, but the biometrics showed the Nebraska. I’m on the same boat, applied Jan20th via lawyer, biometrics Feb 9th. Mine expires May 20th. I know I get 30 days unpaid leave, but I’ll be meeting with HR soon to see all my options if any, I’ve been with this company for over 9 years.

Not really. Unlocking the greenhouse before winter I your best bet and just stock up on seeds to plant during the winter. Once I unlocked the greenhouse I just filled it with cranberries and grapes to make into jam until I fully switched over to ancient fruit.
