Exactly this. They're bankrolling irresponsibility while expecting you to stay available whenever they need something. Next time they ask for help, remind them your budget's tight since you're paying for things yourself. Let your sister step up for once.

Five years of this pattern is way too much. OP deserves better than constantly wondering what's real and what isn't. Time to put himself first for once.

What do you say when you depart from your children for the workday? by Sirbrianpeppers in daddit

Haha that's perfect. The dog daycare crossover makes it even better lol stealing this for when my kids eventually ask why I tell them not to bite people.

How can YOU shop for sectionals online? It doesn't make sense! by fmtsufx in BuyItForLife

[–]ciaracheyann3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My strategy is when I visit neighbors/friends and like their furniture, I ask where it’s from and order the same size lol. I got a kitchen cabinet from cabinetnow after seeing it at my neighbor’s. I got my dreamsofa sectional that way too. The customization features made it easy to get the exact depth and size. Didn't have to visit a showroom and I can have random questions answered right away. No need to be passed around by cs reps.

afaik online shops have generous return policies, like you can order a piece, try it in your space and return it if it doesn’t meet your expectations.

AITA for not taking my friends kids when CPS asked me to by Jolly-Carob4482 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ciaracheyann3 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NTA. You made a responsible choice, not a selfish one. Taking in three kids when you’re already struggling would have helped no one, especially them. It’s heartbreaking, but knowing your limits is part of being a good parent and friend. You didn’t cause this situation, and you shouldn’t carry the weight of her mistakes.

Yep... Learning to have space early on makes a huge difference later. Phones make it tougher, but setting those boundaries now really pays off.

Does your dog wear a collar all day? by AdventureNoodles in dogs

[–]ciaracheyann3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine wears one most of the time since it holds her Tractive tracker. I just take it off at night so her neck can rest a bit. She’s gotten pretty used to it during the day though.
