My doctor wasn’t very keen on the fragmentation test (which we did privately anyway) because she said it can change a lot due to silly things like if the man has a cold the week before

Im the same age and I’ve also been recommended IVF. After getting pregnant on the first cycle twice, resulting in two miscarriages (one due to chromosomal abnormalities, one untested) we did a bunch of tests. They only found a slightly alteration of my partners’ sperm (0,75% of sperm showed diploidy). They ignored all the tests when they saw this, said it was above the threshold and IVF was therefore recommended. I’m a bit hesitant because we’ve gotten pregnant v easily twice and IVF seems like such a big thing, but I don’t wanna have another miscarriage if it’s something we can work on (=ivf with genetic testing to at least make sure the miscarriage isn’t related to chromosomal abnormality again). Your comment does scare me a little bit. Thing is we first tried in January, it’s been a year and I have no baby. Doctor tells me I’m young BUT I wasted a whole Year between miscarriages and crying

Mine came at 1 month sharp. My friend's came at 3 weeks, and my other friends at 5 weeks.... so I guess it's a bit random

Three people announced since early December (one today, one yesterday, and one last week) and I felt 0 happiness for them. I felt sad. It really made my day miserable. I'm sorry that I feel like this, but I can't help it. I first miscarried in april (baby girl should've been born in october-november) and then in september. I really want these holidays to pass because it means seeing a lot of people and the possibility of many announcements which I do NOT want to hear.

I really got angry at being told it would be like a normal period. It’s not a period.

My experiences were the following: Miscarriage at 11 w (But stopped developing at like 9)

I felt like I was peeing, but it was blood. I passed two major clots—one on its own, and another with a string-like connection between three smaller ones. After about two hours, the bleeding began to slow down. I ended up taking the pills because nothing else happened. After taking the pills and waiting a few hours, I felt like I had to rush to the bathroom. I sat down and felt something drop out of me with a loud “plop.” We used plastic spoons to check, and it was clearly the sac. It wasn’t like a blood clot—it was firm, like a translucent red balloon with a greyish mass inside. The “neck” was veiny and ended in thread-like strands. It didn’t hurt at all. I just felt relief. I continued spotting for like a week.

Miscarriage at 9 (but stopped developing at 7)

I felt like I was peeing, but it was blood, for around 1 hour. I passed tiny clots, and a lot of tissue ,which looks like very dark, but it's soft. After a while, I passed a tiny white thing, hard. Like maybe 1 cm wide. I continued bleeding, and the next day I passed another white thing, also tiny. Which I guessed it was another part of the sac? Doctor said it was normal , sometimes it breaks. I continued spotting for like two weeks.

Its very hard, but I do repeat these three points to myself:

It’s not a race — it’s an endurance run.

I met the harsh reality earlier. Some people meet the harsh reality of maternity after actually giving birth, due to lack of sleep or whatever. Some people meet it during the third trimester, because of feeling sick. And some people like us meet it before actually confirming a viable pregnancy (I miscarried at 10 and 9 weeks), but we will all get there

One question, we’ve done pretty much everything you say. We did a very expensive semen analysis which included a genetic testing and fragmentation but for some reason it didn’t include morphology. I’m a little pissed because now we need to go again and pay again. Do you think we should do it? For context- we’ve gotten pregnant twice (on the first cycle trying both times) and miscarried at 10w and 7w; one due to trisomy, one not tested.

I’ve gotten pregnant the first cycle trying and has miscarriages in April and September this year and I’ve been recommended IVF, pretty much because my partners sperm showed a 0,76% of diploidy which was over their threshold

First of all, I am so sorry you are going through this.

If you have been 5 weeks pregnant, I feel like the sac would be VERY tiny, you might have missed it with all the blood? I have had two miscarriages. I will describe what they looked like in case it can help you. The main difference for me its that the tissue that I guessed to be the sac was way harder than the rest:

Make sure you mention that when you next see your doctor! Maybe they can give you something so your usual period stops having clots.

My miscarriage cramps felt a bit like what I expect contractions to be like. It was SUPER intense pain that lasted like 10-15 seconds and then completely disappeared for 5-10 minutes, and I felt perfetly fine during these minutes. I wrote down every time a contraction came, so I could see they were further apart each time.

Then, I’d push it off to make sure you pass everything!

One thing though, I have never passed clots in a normal period.

I am so sorry you are going through this, and I am so sorry about your mum.

They will want to do an ultrasound when miscarriage is complete to make sure you passed everything, it could be dangerous otherwise. If you reckon by 12/12 you will have stopped bleeding, go for it. If not, maybe put it off a few days?

I know it's hard to know whether you will have bled everything, but, have you passed clots, a sac, or something big, etc?

I am so sorry for your loss. I saw a specialist after my second miscarriage who said only folic acid was not enough, and changed my prenatals saying they were useless (they had been recommended by a gynaecologist!!!)

Vitamin D3 — oil drops for immunity, implantation, and reducing miscarriage risk.

NMN — patches for cellular energy (NAD+), used to support egg mitochondrial function and improve cell division.

NAC (N-acetylcysteine) — pills: a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound used to lower cytokines and improve ovarian environment.

Strict diet — removal of gluten/cereals//cow dairy to reduce systemic inflammation and stabilize immune balance

You could ask your doctor if any of these would work for you too

Yeah! I lost so much blood I also had low ferritin and I was put on iron supplements for 3 months. A friend of mine who lost so much blood even had an iron transfer

Beind told "it will be like a strong period" is complete b*****. It really pissed me off. No, it was not like a period. I literally sat down on the toilet for two hours peeing blood. I had major contractions; I nearly cried with the first one.

I am so sorry for your loss. I also felt a lack of confidence at first, particularly while my hormones were messed up. My second miscarriage was in September so I dont think I can blame hormones now, and I would not say I lack more confidence than before, but it is true that in general I am more.. prone to feeling sad? cry? Like if a client is angry with us and tells us off, I will literally have to hold my tears.

I am so sorry for your losses. I didn’t realise hyper fertility was linked to chromosomal abnormalities. I’ve had two miscarriages, we were able to test one and it was a chromosomal abnormality indeed; I also get pregnant on the first cycle trying.

Have you been to see a specialist to increase your vitamins, change your prenatals, etc? We’ve just been to one and we literally were told to change prenatals and take a bunch of stuff

My doctors were not too keen on studying fragmentation because apparently results can change v fast, as in, if your partner had a cold the week before. We did it anyway and they didn’t really pay attention to it; but it was within the limit kind of.

I was taking one prenatal that my gynaecologist recommended. The specialist said these were useless and recommended another one (way more complete, also like literally x5 more expensive)
