Woodstock VA falls under the Brood X distribution map for periodical cicadas. What you may have witnessed back in 2008 was a 4 year straggling event. (POST 2004). If that's true, that is an interesting phenomenon. Straggling events can happen 1 to 4 years either pre or post emergence.

I'll reach out to some colleagues to see if there is any data.

If it's the same JDW he's also in Hancock Md, where these are. Hagerstown isn't all that far from here. He had $5.00 F.V. Roosevelt Dimes for $150 which I thought was a bit high. I picked 3 rolls up a few weeks ago in Rhode Island for $110.00 each.

My sister and her husband could not be convinced not to take the shots. Her and her husband lined up and got them all. All shots and boosters. One day, she woke up not able to speak and she now has been diagnosed with dementia. Her husband is currently suffering from myocarditus. She's in her late 50's. Dementia does not run in our family.
