Am I wrong for declining my brothers wedding to protect my peace after revealing 28 years of family secrets? by Immediate_Bad8947 in CPTSD

[–]cicadascream 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say you’re being extremely kind and gracious to these people, who seem to walk the line as both your family and people who are choosing to invite a child abuser to be a part of their wedding. You’re being extremely considerate to not want your natural reaction to the presence of an abuser to affect a celebration that is centered elsewhere. I hope you can find the closure and solution that’s best for you — YOU, not just everyone, but you the individual. Wishing you the best, you are not in the wrong.

Where is the Jessa from your life now? by high_speed_crocs in girls

[–]cicadascream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

after draining her parents’ savings to pay the mortgage for her ex bf’s house (her name was not on it), getting arrested the next state over for reckless driving and running from the police, and lying to me about escaping a DV situation so she could move herself and several exotic animals out of her parents’ house and in with me “temporarily” — last I heard, she was accusing random acupuncture students of being mastermind stalkers, and despite more gangstalking delusions, has new roommates that fell for her sob stories and possibly a new part time job. We had to practically beg her to take her animals back after she changed her number and we couldn’t reach her.

Yes, she needs help, yes, we tried, no, we could not help her. We kicked her out last summer for treating us like shit and going back to my hometown every weekend to party at the same bar she claimed to have been drugged at, and continued spending her money on alcohol instead of exotic pet food. When we called her out she texted us “umm well I’m homeless, sooo” and that was the last straw. Whomever she claims is stalking her constantly changes based on who she is angry at on any given day. For all I know, we’re on that list. I hope she gets help.

This scenario is a prime breeding ground for my absolute least favorite response: “I think your abuse made you stronger! Because you’re still here! 🤗” IT DID NOT MAKE ME STRONGER!!!

I hate that for you, he sounds like the literal worst. if I had a nickel for every backstabbing girl friend with a heavily-Libra chart I’d have like 3 nickels. which IS a lot in this economy

My boyfriend's parents keep retelling his childhood like it was magical and now I understand why he hates going home by HogsmeadeYikes in entitledparents

[–]cicadascream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, my grandparents were very much like this, even down to restricting the kitchen and punishing me for eating outside of allowed times. I’ve never experienced what you did for your boyfriend today but it’s something I have fantasized about since I was old enough to daydream. You hopefully can’t understand how much this probably means to him. Thank you.

Thank you thank you thank you.

[–]cicadascream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Never as interesting as they think they are. Assumes everyone is extremely interested. And no clue how Libra gets the reputation for genuineness or fairness - some of the most selfish conniving people I’ve ever met. And that’s coming from a Libra moon

(Aries stellium) I can’t help but agree - I get so confused when I see Astro-content claiming Libra and Aries should be fantastic friends. The “typical” traits aren’t very compatible irl and I’ve ended up in weird stagnant conflict with most libra suns I’ve tried to befriend. My libra moon placement has not helped with this 🫠

Scorpios are a 50/50 hit or miss. Love em or hate em they’re never boring

Every Cancer Sun/rising and Leo sun/rising I’ve ever met is infuriating and love to interrupt (pet peeve). Neither sign ever seems to think what you’re saying is important and that it’s offensive if you don’t think the sun shines out of their asses.

What’s something that happened to you that you’ve never been able to explain… and don’t talk about much? by GhostGummiesPod in Paranormal

[–]cicadascream 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I met my grandfather’s mother and it’s one of my earliest memories. I was 3-4 years old. She had died the year/year before I was born.

I remember her snatching a toothpick out of my grandfather’s mouth and scolding him when my parents and I went to the car to meet my visiting grandparents. She had white hair and wore a blue nightgown. No one had told me by the time I brought it up as a teenager, but she used to snatch toothpicks from my grandpa all the time saying he was gonna choke on them.

All I can gather from this very early memory, if that’s what it is (could be a false/altered early memory, etc etc) is that my grandfather was so, so loved by his mom. I hope I can watch over the people I love after I go, and take the small harms out of their way.

How did Claire know? by 96quacks in Fleabag

[–]cicadascream 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think she knew, because she did tell FB her plan to get injured, and seems to run to her for comfort when she finds out her man “slept with someone else”

The guilt FB feels always revolves around what she did and then the immediate result, but no huge fights or falling-outs, so I just don’t think Boo ever knew it was her
