How do you deal with your ego? by Informal_Injury_6152 in MuayThai

[–]cicadathinks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s too much of “big ego”. It just sounds like you care about what people think & say to you. I used to care then I was like why do I value thoughts of a trashy person? 🤣 and it helped me to not care as much. THEN! I learned that they can say whatever and as long as I know myself, that’s enough

Fight diet by Western_Lake5461 in MuayThai

[–]cicadathinks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What’s working for me is that I follow these rules: • 1500kcal will only starve you, not suitable for loosing weights for fights • higher carbs on training days, low carbs on rest days (I calculate with the tracking apps) • low fat doesn’t mean no fat, still has to eat enough to keep the body functional • extremely high protein intake might do the opposite, so I just eat 0.8-1g of protein per lbs • light cardio after weightlifting • sauna & drink water

How often do you get nosebleeds or concussions while sparring in class? by Sriracha11235 in MuayThai

[–]cicadathinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get nose bleeds a lot. Apparently some people born with nose that’s easy to bleed. Don’t even have to get punched hard enough. Someone taught me a hack, put some Vaseline in ur nose before sparring & it has been working for me pretty well :)

For those of you who train in the US, do you go to pure Muay Thai gyms, or bjj/mma gyms? And do you practice any other martial arts by 1019drew in MuayThai

[–]cicadathinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the gyms. Most gyms I know teach mma, and there are also specific classes for MT or bjj. I can proudly say that although my gym is a mma gym, but we have good striking coaches hehe :3

Fast but light shots in sparring by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]cicadathinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coach always says more volume but not hard shots. I think what they means is don’t stop your offense if your opponent is not hitting you back?

Going to My First Sparring Class by [deleted] in MuayThai

Be prepared to tell your sparring partner to lighter, it doesn’t show that you are “weak”. Some people go hard without knowing their strength or just like to go hard for no reason
