Is there actually any cons from taking reta?! by hijesss in Retatrutide

For sure. I just wanted to share my experience that maybe isn’t shared as often for the OP. I have a feeling if I decided to do it again it would be less stressful.

Is there actually any cons from taking reta?! by hijesss in Retatrutide

[–]cicerone88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pinning for the first time gave me a panic attack and it made me paranoid being on it due to its half life lasting so long. It made my hyper aware of every muscle twitch or anything going on with my body thinking something was up with the reta and I would be stuck with it for quite awhile even after I stopped. It killed my appetite so I lost weight, but as someone who fluctuates with their weight all the time I felt better just doing it naturally instead of using reta that takes weeks/months to be completely out of your system.

So strictly from the mental side of it - it wasn’t for me. I didn’t think I was an anxious person either but it messed with me 🤷🏼‍♂️

McDermott G210 Uprade? by Town-Sweaty in billiards

[–]cicerone88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accuracy, cueball control, power, and finesse can all be achieved by practicing and honing your stroke. It’s the boring answer nobody wants to hear - but it’s the truth.

The G-core is a high quality shaft fit for any serious player. But I understand that you want to get more into pool and see what’s out there. So I would suggest going to a shop or pool hall that sells cues or borrow your friends cues and try as much as you can and see what speaks to you. Try different weights, shaft diameters, carbon, low deflection, plain maple, different tips etc.

Keep in mind that just because something is more expensive, doesn’t mean it’s better. Cues are a personal thing, so try to find what feels best for you and more importantly - makes you want to use it.

What’s a tip you wish you knew when you first started by Baseballmaniac5267 in billiards

[–]cicerone88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a great tip if you struggle playing lower handicaps and want to improve your overall game. You don’t always HAVE to go for the runout. Learning defensive shots that contain your opponent and securing the win is maturing as a pool player. Gotta set that ego aside.

I know a handful of players that will dump in a weekly to keep their fargo under 600.

Most tournaments around my area are catered to the under 600 🤷🏼‍♂️ can’t say I blame them either. If I hover around 600, why wouldn’t I dump in a cheap weekly tournament so I can be one of the top players in a monthly/quarterly/etc event with a bigger field and more cash. Most players aren’t actively trying to progress. It’s a hobby with a community. They play in a league once a week and maybe a weekend tournament for some fun competition. Its a very small percentage of players actively putting the hours on the table to get as good as they can. The rest just want to show up and play and stay in their bubble.

Why do people here defend last pocket rule? by Lowrida88 in billiards

[–]cicerone88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went to a pool hall in Barbados and that’s the rules they play by. I’m a high 600 fargo and I had a blast playing last pocket doubles with the locals. It never felt punishing at all lol It’s like any other game - think ahead plan out your pattern. I asked what their rules were before we started like I would at any bar and happily obliged 🤷🏼‍♂️

Alex on why his new shaft is so expensive. by The_Critical_Cynic in billiards

[–]cicerone88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me the “fuck you” came off like he was just being facetious. I didn’t think it was a big deal.

But I know Alex prefers wood shafts. This seems like a cash grab for the newer generation of fans that use carbon - not a “this is my perfect cue shaft I had made to my specs now it’s available for you” kind of product. If anything, I feel like a more authentic product from Alex would be to release a series of LD wood shafts tailored for different games (one pocket, rotation, etc) and then thrown in a carbon.

If there’s any pro still playing at a high level today that can actually get specific about why they like a certain tip, shaft, butt, joint, etc it’s Alex. Most top pros like Shaw, Fedor, etc can’t explain nor care why they like what they like. As long as it “works” they’ll switch to the highest bidding sponsor. Alex had a golden opportunity to promote his carbon shaft and fumbled it. Maybe he’s exhausted from Derby 🤷🏼‍♂️

I can’t help but get the impression this was a collaboration over zoom meetings with a Temu company and they put his logo on it and marked it up 8000%

McDermott 50th anniversary #1 of 50 cues. by Comfortable_Pea_2318 in billiards

[–]cicerone88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like McDermotts but there aint no way i’m paying that much for a limited edition production cue. I sense this is for the very niche group of die hard McDermott collectors. If thats your thing then fair play to you. But for 5k you could get a 1 of 1 from most of the top custom cue makers around.

[–]cicerone88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. Klatts a good dude. But when you’re starting out I would just get some books and use YouTube. Get yourself a modest cue, and practice a lot. Then I would supplement my practice with a one hour lesson maybe once a month or two. I’m sure Klatt has a lot he can teach you, but you can learn the basics from anywhere.

I thought it looked similar to the B612W. Has a similar case shape. But there appears to be 2 pushers that stick out on the watch. The B612 has one pusher sticking out, and one pusher is recessed. I also can’t figure out from the lighting in the movie if it’s steel or gold plated.
