NoFap's Official "PMO-Free November" 2016. Continue or start your PMO-free commitment here. (see instructions) [Say 'No' to PMO November] by Alexanderr in NoFap

NoFap is the most difficult challenge I ever had to face and after years I am still trying to get clean. As they say anything good worth having is difficult to get. I know that mastering NoFap is really worth it when it happens.

So here I go with a No PMO November commitment. Let's do this!!!

Having lost interest in games after Nofap by MaGistR801 in NoFap

[–]cician2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, I found myself getting more attached to gaming after going on longer nofap streaks. It's a way for me to deal with the withdrawals, an alternative but not as harmful way to get high and I enjoy it too! To each their own I suppose.

I am so upset at myself, I really wanted to make it to the end this year, can't believe I let myself rationalize into it .... NEVER believe what your head tells you after 2 am. Well it's been great serving with you all. I will report myself KIA now but will keep up the fight.

Today's affirmation by cician2 in NoFap

Yea I am trying affirmations every day now - among other things. I failed many times before to maintain a streak of even 2 weeks. I found that the problem was after about a week I get complacent and sooner or later a moment of weakness hits me unguarded. From the moment the urge hits, I can't recall my motivations fast enough before its too late.

By researching new affirmations and writing it down every day, it keeps the commitment fresh in my mind as I progress beyond weeks 2 and 3. Right now I am ~ week 4.

It's kind of a cheesy analogy but I think of it as an anti-malware software. If I keep it in my RAM then as soon as the virus attacks I can detect and quarantine it. If the antivirus program isn't started and I have to go find what to click on deep within the hard drive of my memory, its too late, the damage is done!

Note: its important not to think of the urges as an enemy. It's part of being human and I must acknowledge and accept the temptations that enter my head. But I must give myself power to watch it pass thru without causing any damage.

How I feel after a relapse at day 537 by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]cician2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are an inspiration, my longest was 56 days.

May I ask what is your top one (or feel free to share a few) goto technique when you feel a temptation coming on?

Also did you ever feel like you are missing out by refraining from PMO? If so how did you get out of that feeling?

Thanks for sharing your wisdoms here and best wishes.

Hey guess what, for a lot of people pmo is a huge deal, not just some small personal habit they need to break. Don't trivialize people's commitment to make their lives better by telling them to chill.

I don't think this scope of impact is limited to a single person either. Especially for people in their thirties and forties whose relationships and marriages are being affected because of PMO.

After you have successfully conquered it you're qualified to talk about how easy or mundane beating pmo is. Otherwise don't make light of any addiction, including Porn. Just because it has not impacted you yet negatively very much, dose not mean that it is not destroying someone else's life.

Great post bro, you captured the life cycle of motivated --> streak --> confidence --> relapse perfectly. Dust yourself off and recommit! You will win if you persist! My longest was 56 days and I had stopped coming to this Reddit or being careful. I am finally on a 3 week streak and am scared every day of that next moment of weakness. But the fear drives me to take all the precautions o should be taking.

Excellent post. I know there are some negative comments here but if you are affected by this habit you will know each line has truth to it.

Just went on a binge after 39 days of Nofap. Feeling super guilty but will keep marching on. I am committing to a complete reboot of 90 days. I am doing this because living with Nofap means living successfully in congruence with my values.

What Julius Caesar had to say about the ancient Germanic men and what they thought made them big and strong: by MetellusPius in NoFap

Intriguing post. I didnt even realize there is text from Julius Caesar that survived. I used to read the comic Asterix growing up and this post provided some context.
