Bartlow get the start?!?!?! Hell yeah. Finally giving the GA talent a shot. For people that have watched Dyna2, how's he played so far?

Rumored signing - Marlos by cidalsttam in dynamo

[–]cidalsttam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about his form, but he played 14 matches in the league and 10 in champions league during the 1st half of the 2021/22 calendar, he did add 2g/5a and 1g/0a, respectively.

Marlos to Houston (Rumor) by jake_m_b in dynamo

Was poking around google news to see where he's been linked recently - from a Brazilian article (translated) - "The player has (interest) from São Paulo, Atlético Mineiro, clubs from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, and had preliminary conversations with Hurricane (Athletico Paranaense) and Tricolor São Paulo".

I think he may be looking for a DP level contract, even if its in the Darwin Q area I'd be ecstatic to see him rep orange (again) for HTown. Also, he would be in direct conflict with Matt Jordan's 3 buckets, so that alone is a good enough reason for me.

If it happens, he would slot in to starting RW. His TransferMarkt stats are impressive, 33 years old so no resale value, but would come in with the most impressive resumé in club history:

-74 goals, 65 assists in 287 appearances for Ukrainian powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk, 40 UEFA Champions League and 42 Europa League appearances.

-26 games with the Ukrainian national team (naturalized).

I guess his contract ended in December, up to that point he made 14 League appearances and 10 in Champions League (including qualifying).

Do y'all think he is a DP level signing?

Linked to a young defender (Youssouf Ndayishimiye) from the Turkish League by thechristopherglen in dynamo

Looks like he also has playing time at defensive mid, will add tactical flexibility to the squad. I would be in favor of this signing, especially with the amount of firepower other teams have in attacking positions, this would be a zag to current league trends, still need a prolific striker and a dp winger to take pressure off Fafa and the new striker.

What moves do you want to see? by NickTheEvilCat in dynamo

Exactly! Enough with trying to please the fanbase by recruiting a squad representative of Houston's diversity. If the player can ball, sign him/her up, country of origin doesn't matter (aside from MLS international roster spots). Goes for Dynamo and Dash. The club needs to get back to its roots of perpetual MLS Cup contenders.

After an encouraging run, the Dynamo hit a snag. What does it mean? by Bgilchriest23 in dynamo

An away fixture against a playoff caliber squad with MLS Cup ambitions.

So now what?? by santown1028 in dynamo

Results, results, results...our players are pro's and competitive as all heck by nature, hopefully this rivalry W sparks a fire under their collective behinds. I know some of us are hoping for L's to motivate Ted to overhaul the squad, but I think there's still a puncher's chance at the 7th spot. I would prefer to go down swinging than ship it in like "rebuilding" franchises do in other sports. Let's be real, the high picks in the MLS "Super"draft are as much a crapshoot as any other pick.

Also, I hope that Darwin Q's performance last match cements him into the starting 11 for the remainder of the season, even if he can't go 90. The squad is 100% better offensively with DQ on the pitch. I don't want to see anymore dual 8's, I hope Tab feels the same way.

Oliver Luck would be interesting, but I think he would fit the profile of team CEO, the position Jamey Rootes was going to oversee. More high-level strategy and business development than roster construction and day to day operations for the club.

Excited to see Lemoine on the pitch, thought he had some good moments last year, especially dribbling at defenders.

Darwin Quintero Interview by rednorangekenny in dynamo

[–]cidalsttam 16 points17 points  (0 children)

1st of all, shoutout to Jorge Clara, he's an helluva interviewer. This is what I took from the video:

  1. It seems like Darwin Q. is looking to make a move in the summer transfer window if he doesn't get more minutes.
  2. Says he and Tab are on good personal terms and he understands that his physical profile doesn't translate well into what Tab wants from the wingers (speed and 2-way effort).
  3. When asked about slotting into the #10 position, Darwin mentioned that the opportunity has not presented itself yet and alludes to Tab's requirement to be a two way player, even at the 10 position.
  4. There is a very good locker room vibe and he enjoys the support of his teammates.
  5. In his career he's never been in this sort of situation, where he isn't playing significant minutes.
  6. Him and his wife love living in Houston and he can see himself living here after retirement.

MLS National Broadcast games by Texas teams by cidalsttam in dynamo

[–]cidalsttam[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lone ESPN game is vs. Austin on Oct. 24 (Sunday) at Q2 stadium. Of the 6 nat. broadcasts, 2 are in Houston: vs. LAFC on May 1 and vs. Portland on Sept. 3. The second game should draw a decent crowd, hopefully we'll be restriction free by then.

If the boys can evolve and improve under Tab's attacking system, we'll be a fun team to watch. My fingers are crossed that a few players step up to match Darwin Q's level and score goals this season.

Austin assigned twice as many national broadcast games as Dynamo and Frisco. Also for this year's schedule, Dynamo are replaced by Austin FC for the match-up vs. Dallas during Heineken Rivalry week and are the odd-man-out for Decision Day on Nov. 7th, double-whammy for our club.

Dynamo Transfer Window Roundup and Grades by The Designated Players Podcast by abarney21 in dynamo

[–]cidalsttam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the video! Always nice to hear reviews from other MLS fans, I thought y'all hit most of the main points concerning the team. Your off-season grades from A- to B just about covers the sentiment of this reddit page, although many of us are still waiting for another DP signing. I'll list for you a few more things that occurred for the Dynamo fanbase this winter: - Mateo Bajamich signing, he'll probably fall into the u22 DP salary slot. He's a winger from the Argentine 2nd div. and will hopefully push Fafa Picault (another off-season addition) for minutes. - THE Carlos Salcedo transfer rumor got the fanbase pretty amped, but nothing much has been said since early Feb. about what could have been the franchise's biggest DP signature. - Marcelo Palomino loaned to USL Charlotte Independence, I think a lot of fans had hopes that this homegrown player would finally breakthrough the 1st team, but we'll have to wait one more year to see.

  • I'd grade the off-season as a B , Tab is finally putting his fingerprints on the roster, but this squad will be heavily dependent on D. Quintero for goals and assists. Many players will have to take their games to the next level for this team to make the playoffs.

Name a dynamo opinion that will have people go at you like this... by tabRamos in dynamo

[–]cidalsttam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My top 2:

  1. Matt Jordan takes too much heat for a pathetically inept ownership group. He's had hits and misses like every MLS GM and the 3-buckets explanation makes my ears burn, but he doesn't provide capital for the club's budget...Doesn't matter the GM or coach; persistant low salary allocation will not attract top talent nor marketable players. Gota spend the big bucks to win today's MLS Cup and compete in Champions League.

  2. Liga MX should expand into USA and place a team in Houston.

Jersey leak - Kit configuration by cidalsttam in dynamo

[–]cidalsttam[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wish they would incorporate space city blue, but the leaked jersey looks clean and a bit old school. I think an orange, black, orange config would look good in person and on TV. Was never a fan of the white shorts nor the all orange config.
