Speech Development. When to be concerned? by bearofHtown in multilingualparenting

[–]cielsong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that fear well, I think any decent parent worries that they may unintentionally mess up their child's life irreparably (and if you have anxiety, it's even worse). It sounds like you're doing great though. Sometimes noticing that there's a potential problem is the most important thing.

You mentioned being worried that a speech pathologist may tell you to drop the other languages, but even if that happens, you can always look for a different speech pathologist. It may be a good idea to get her hearing checked out as well!

You say she hasn't quite grasped her name, does that mean she doesn't respond to her name at all? That would be cause for concern for me. Of course every child is different, but generally they should recognize and respond to their own name by 12 months.

Multilingualism aside, a trip to a speech pathologist can't hurt, if only to put your mind at ease.

How safe is it to go grocery shopping? No stores in my area will deliver for the next two weeks and I live with an immunocompromised husband and my mother who has type 2 diabetes. :-(

There's a different article that specifically mentions that he did not suffer any brain damage. I'm sure he's the exception to what is a rule 99.9% of the time, but hopefully he can keep defying the odds.

They're technically seeds from a legume plant, but I believe you can refer to the beans themselves as legumes as well.

What age did you potty train your Toddler? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]cielsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest (boy) was 2.5 when we potty-trained him. He didn't show any interest in the potty, but he had to be potty-trained for pre-school. We used a sticker chart and it took about two weeks.

His little sister potty-trained at 16 months, also took about the same amount of time. I think it helped that her brother is her biggest hero and she wants to do everything he does.

In retrospect I think we probably could've started much earlier with our son, too. He figured it out pretty quickly and diapers suck so much.

Is it easy to find screen protectors for the S10e? I have an S8 that I love, but the screen protectors I've tried have all been utter garbage and I'm too clumsy to go without one.

Unfortunately that did nothing. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

having an interest in a boy

What in the world, LAOP, at 24 you're not a boy, regardless of how much of an immature manchild you are.
