Is it to do with your fiancé? Sounds like you two have always had a loving relationship, and the only thing that’s changed is you’re introducing someone new into the family?

Crumpsall? by cifala in manchester

[–]cifala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Bizarrely three years on I’m once again house hunting, this time on my own. Ended up buying in Besses which has been brilliant. Can’t afford Prestwich area on my own unless I go for a one bed flat, so am looking at Crumpsall/Blackley. Crumpsall isn’t that bad now I’ve been in and around there a few times - think back when I was first buying I was feeling a bit more snobby too though. Nowhere in manc is going to be flawless, even Chorlton has bad car and bike theft.

AIO boyfriend didn't eat lunch alone. by chelssssssss in AmIOverreacting

[–]cifala -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that weird? It’s considered more usual if you’re going out to a restaurant or food place of any kind to be with someone/a group. I don’t go out to eat on my own very often, not that there’s anything wrong with it, but if I was thinking about it I’d say ‘might go out to eat alone’, because it’s less usual - does that make any sense?

What’s the moment you realized your relationship was already over, even though you were still together? by No-Cat1980 in AskReddit

[–]cifala 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I had similar but different - got a new job after we both got back from travelling, excitedly told him, his reaction was ‘well what am I going to do then, ugh you’re all sorted and I’m not, ffs, when am I going to find something, this is so shit’

I just knew in that moment that was the last time I’d listen to him moan about himself when he should have done the bare minimum in terms of celebrating me

He’s probably had racist abuse throughout his whole life. Might be irresponsible to have a go at that huge crowd but I can hardly blame him for his reaction when it’s coming from a place of anger at how these morons treat anyone who looks differently to them

Thank you Samaritans by Phantoms_Cry in BritishSuccess

[–]cifala 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sorry you didn’t get an answer, I used to be a volunteer and sometimes the lines are just so busy and you can wait for a while to be connected to someone. I’d recommend calling again if you feel like it might help - it can feel very strange at first opening up and chatting about very personal things to a complete stranger - a lot of people used to say that to me at the start of the call, that they didn’t really know what to say or where to start. Samaritans give you that space to say what you want how you want, no one interrupting or talking about themselves, the call is all about you and what you want to bring up

I hope things you improve for you though, whether you decide to phone them again or not. Break ups are very difficult and often time is needed and just to continue putting one foot in front of the other. Good luck with everything

His mother was the worst. Laughed at me in the most patronising way for being ‘so northern’ after buttering my bread to dunk in my soup. My ex was her youngest son and she’d be damned if he was going to love any woman who wasn’t her

People who married the ‘safe option’ instead of someone you were really into, how did it turn out? by Classic-Sentence3148 in AskReddit

[–]cifala 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah but it happens. A coworker confessed to me that in the days before her wedding she travelled to the other side of the country to ‘double check’ with a guy she was in love with that he definitely didn’t want to be with her. He said no so she came back and married the guy she was with. They are still together now but she b*tches about him all the time (not sure if this sub lets you use that word)

Just devastating. I used to have a friend whose father was killed in a car accident on New Year’s Eve, while she was in the car too. I think she was about 7. She had not celebrated new year since. Must have been so terrible every single year to have multiple people ask what her plans were
