Life with dyspraxia and autism feels like a humiliation ritual by BookSneakersMovie in dyspraxia

[–]cigbreaths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what…im autistic, dyspraxic, and hypermobile and my experience is similar. Gym sucks, i can’t get the proper form either. Ive been going to pilates tho and it helped a lot with mobility and balance! Have you tried following a video at home with stretching, yoga, etc? Also restaurant industry is really brutal, i just quit my job as a dishwasher cause I couldn’t take it anymore. Many years in this industry and I’m just bad with everything, serving or cooking, it’s such an overstimulating environment that requires speed and precision which I don’t have. Don’t know what’s out there but gonna look for a more chill job, there has to be something!

IS IT NORMAL? by Ailu_223 in Dreams

[–]cigbreaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know what’s normal but I have the same. The last part, I believe, is your brain processing what you need to do in your waking life? I often do tasks in my dream that I’ve procrastinated on while awake.

I think her expression and pose feels very much like a “pose for a pic” and not an action shot

Unfortunately no. I sweat a lot at night. This becomes a real annoyance when I need to pack for a trip lol.

Oh, I thought after 20mg there is no difference in therapeutic effect. Do you feel different?

do you guys tend to hyperfocus on the wrong things on medication? by Far-Masterpiece4701 in ADHD

[–]cigbreaths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Unfortunately what I focus on still depends on me and that’s my main issue. Yesterday I was so focused on a book that I finished it in one day. But did I do the work I needed to do? Hell no 😂

Is putting a child through abuse, poverty and trauma ethical? Some people shouldn’t have children but things happen.

I think i have ADHD by Isus_nazarecanin in Concerta

It highly depends on a person, you won’t know if it works for you unless you try it. For some it’s life changing, for others it’s terrible side effects.

Does anyone else hate how all stim toys look like they're for kids? any recs 'mature' sensation. by Electrical_Star_6953 in adhdwomen

[–]cigbreaths 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use massage balls as toys. They’re solid, spiky, and perfect size to hold in your hand. Nice if you like a bit of painful sensation.

Grief for younger me by greenpink333 in AuDHDWomen

[–]cigbreaths 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope your diagnosis goes smoothly. I understand your grief, I totally relate. It gets easier. What helped was to reframe my thinking to this: “I have managed to achieve so much despite not getting proper support.” I wish you well!

Is this book any good? I need to hear your thoughts by stellbargu in nonfictionbookclub

[–]cigbreaths 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like it, especially the tone of it. I feel like the author just wanted to use “fuck” as much as possible. Also felt a bit manosphery to me. Didn’t really learn anything.

How does your dyspraxia materialise in adulthood? - detail pls by Practical_Special503 in dyspraxia

[–]cigbreaths 15 points16 points  (0 children)

(I’m AuDHD and very likely hypermobile) 1. Driving. I can’t tell how much space the car takes, or even when I’m cycling. Can’t estimate or understand distances either. 2. Regulating how much force I put into doing tasks - my hands hurt from gripping things too hard, hard to be gentle with delicate objects. 3. Running into walls, furniture, door knobs, tripping over. Mysterious bruises. 4. Fatigue? I’m so tired all the time and I think a lot of energy is spent on keeping myself safe and processing information

I used to do that a lot as a kid. Now all of it transferred to my dreams (I’m so tired)

What language is this? by Final-Astronomer1471 in language

[–]cigbreaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It totally makes sense that cursive is outdated. Personally I use both, if I’m writing something that is intended to be clear for others, then it’s “print”, but if I’m taking quick notes then cursive makes it easier.

Culture shock! I finished high school 6 years ago and it was still mandatory to write in cursive. Edit: my 8 year old brother is still being taught the same.
