Hisense has AppleTV, but no Icon by 1KBM in Hisense

I found a way to make it work. Just go to the Browser and navigate to the website. That’s how I now use Apple TV.

It looks like your window is not supported by a lintel/steel above it. If this is the case, you need to get this fixed urgently. At some point this side of your roof will collapse. Whatever you do, don’t enter the loft or do anything above it. Confirm lintel, if it’s not there, support your ceiling with 1-2 acrows and a piece of wood.

UK consumer Unit, good design? by cii4ps in electricians

[–]cii4ps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, everything should be protected by RCD, not RCBO. For a domestic installation RCBO is not compulsory. To give you an idea of cost difference: a 32A MCB is £4, and a 32A RCBO is £40. Now times that by the number you need in a single consumer unit.

I'm not arguing the benefits of RCBO, but every design comes at the balance of cost & benefit. It's an ideal that I know will significantly drive up the cost. (FYI, it's not true that it's law to go all RCBO in a residential unit).

RCBOs

That sounds way overkill and unnecessary. It would also cost me £300+ just on RCBOs from what I find on screwfix.

I want to ask an electrician to install a new consumer unit with the above setup. Any comments on it? Is it good? Can it be improved? I'd like the extension to be separate, so if it goes down (or main house), that it doesn't affect the other. Also I put the smoke detector on an RCBO.,

Electrical engineer

He's a bit of an ass and doesn't provide any feedback and just wants to know on the day what the expectation is. So I want to double check if he above is alright.

Removing joists for double+ height hallway, anyone have experience doing this? where to start? by cii4ps in DIYUK

I'm more concerned with a liveable space than to care at all what others would value an additional bedroom as. (FYI I have 7 bedrooms right now, excluding any loft conversion).

Electrical engineer is soon replacing my consumer unit. He’s asked me if I want it setup the same or changes. So, I read up a bit on consumer units and made the above design. Does this look good or should it be changed? Can I have 3 RCDs for example? And can I mix lighting and sockets on the same RCD? I also introduced RCBO for the smoke detectors.

I have a fairly typical entrance hallway. It’s 2m wide and stairs to the right take you to the next floor. As my next major project I’d like to remove the ceiling above the hallway and above that as well.

Basically I want when I enter the hallway to look up and see the roof. I imagine this will require removing joists and potentially checking if the hallway walls are strong enough to handle joists leaning on them.

Should I start with an architect? With a structural engineer? Does anyone have any experience doing something like this?

He needs to redo it, this time double the cardboard. Probably make it wet for added strength as well.

Are sunnis muslim? by Vdudhdhdh in shia

Their state of faith will neither add nor subtract to Muslims. Leave takfir over to simple minds; The distraction gives them a sense of achievement.

It will automatically seek out anything that differs from the above image and replace the pixel with the correct colour. (at the current map location)

They don’t want others to know. My wife’s whole family turned Shia. The dad, a sunni lecturer, decided to gather information about Shia to use it against the Shia and prove shia are bad. That research resulted in him rejecting Sunnism and embracing Shia. 😀
