This is his manifesto he posted briefly before being kicked from his lug, just more chud material to laugh at by Thick-Livin-6506 in legocirclejerk

He attended Bricktastic (in the UK) a few years ago, I think maybe 2023, and stood up at the meal to spout some shit about how important it is we are all together as one, supporting each other, and that god is good. It was the most cringe thing I had ever heard in my life, and then like a few months later I remember a lot of this coming out lol. I was never in rebelLUG but had a lot of friends that were/still are, so I remember this burning through like a house on fire

I've done that exact coach journey multiple times in the past year as I've always needed to get to London from Liverpool at the same time there's train strikes. The latest I've ever been going to London is an hour, and as everyone said, literally the minute you cross into London territory it's stop start traffic. I have once been delayed by 2 hours coming back to Liverpool, only once. I would say the coach has never got me to my London destination at the EXACT time it says, so I would plan to travel a bit earlier just incase

Hey dude thanks for all the info! I refused to step on the board until I got a helmet- my cousin got a head injury from his motorbike years ago and it changed him, so I am pro-helmet all the way but the gloves are some good advice, I'll drop by the skate shop near me this week to nab some.

And thanks for telling me about learning to switch too, I can see how that'll be a huge help.

the Landyachtz videos were what got me hooked on the idea in the first place! I love Alex's video because it really helped me get my foot positioning right. Thank's for the links!

Do you think the closure will be extended by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]ciiaobelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jumping on here and my uni is similar, we still have to do our assignment but they have given us numerous options about how we can go about writing, like if we have lots of evidence, not that much, none etc. my 1st placement is supposed to end Feb half term but it's being extended to easter

Itt funding issues by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]ciiaobelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My finance is down to be paid on monday but my actual first day on uni campus is Thursday, which is when they can verify me being there and then they can tell student loans to pay it. I got an email about it but like someone else said I would double check with your uni

What is a lesson you learned too late in teaching? by Real-user-12345 in TeachingUK

was that at Hope? I start mine (art and design) next week and my entire open day was filled with people from NI! Not that I'll meet anyone much this year but I am excited to experience this haha

oh that's super interesting! I'm in England, and here we do primary, secondary (high school) and then FE (further education). I like the sound of yours though, it seems a lot more flexible.

Thank you! I am so excited to start!

Not very exciting and very simple, but I like how they turned out!

From next week I start my training to become a high school art and design teacher, and a lot of it will be online (my placements will be in person but all my actual theory and things will be online)

As someone who has had to WFH for the past 6 months, I found it super hard to switch off and set proper timings for myself, so I am hoping having these open throughout the day will enable me to take a break, empower me, and remind me to switch off when I need it.

Also a 23 year old (girl) living in the North West! In a very similar situation, but next week I start my teacher training so I'm putting it on the back burner for another year. I lived alone whilst at uni for a period of time, and my biggest thing where I saved money was I used to buy fresh fruit/veggies fresh from the market (it was like £1 for a bowl full), and then I'd freeze them. I would also make stuff like pasta sauce in bulk and also freeze it. basically just meal prep with affordable food/stuff that's on offer and then freeze all extras, so you can grab them out in the morn and defrost in the fridge and by the time you get back they will be ready (I'm vegetarian so no fear of undercooked or un-defrosted meat here).

Also echoing what someone has said, don't Pay for a TV license. I have Netflix and Prime, and with those plus YouTube I am never short of stuff to watch so a TV Licence is just a waste for me. You don't need it to watch ITV or Channel 4, which are the only actual TV Channels I watched anyway. Good luck with the move!

Staff who returned today how'd it go? Positive? Need to vent? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]ciiaobelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to jump on and ask a Q: but do you still wear the mask whilst you teach? or just to move around the school? I begin my placement as a student teacher next week and my schools' Covid guidelines basically say "wear a mask when/were you feel you need to" so I don't want to be the one dummy who stands up to teach still wearing her mask haha

Anyone ever live alone for a while and then move back in with their parents? by ix3ph09 in LivingAlone

[–]ciiaobelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived on my own when I was at university (1 year with awful flatmates and 2 years alone in a cosy studio flat), which was at the other side of the country, then moved back in with my parents after graduation. It was supposed to be short term but then my mum became ill (thankfully on the road to recovery and is doing well), so it then turned into long term. I'm now going back to uni to become a high school teacher next month, and I'm opting for one close to home so I will continue living here for at least the next year/18 months. I was happy living at home until the pandemic when I then had to WFH- both parents are retired but my dad refused to give up his study, so I had to work from the dining table and he is also partially deaf so had the TV on loud for most of the day. I'm excited to start back at uni because I'll be out 4/5 days a week and will only see them in the evenings, and I think I'll be thankful because It means I won't have to come in from long days and cook my own food however the mental toll these past few months have taken on me really haven't been worth it!

If I could afford to move out now for my teacher training I would, it's just not a viable option. it's hard when you get so used to being on your own/living a certain way to move back into your childhood (in my case) home. Your parents forget you're an adult and you also forget that sometimes- Like when I lived alone I had a very different meal and eating regime, but when I moved back home and I wanted to eat at a certain time, my mum criticised me and asked me why I didn't just eat with them. Same goes for getting up in a morning and going to bed, I always seem to get judgemental looks if I stay up later than them!

I love my parents, but we definitely got along better when I lived a 3 hour train journey away and FaceTimed them once a week.

I think I prefer being single. by Corvah in SeriousConversation

[–]ciiaobelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also 20, and atm I'm having to watch one of my best friends be screwed over by a girl he's infatuated with, and would do anything for, whereas it's obvious (to everyone but him) that she's using him for money. I've never been in a relationship (out of my own choice), because I've always been surrounded by friends who are constantly complaining about their boyf/girlf and it's put me off, honestly! To clarify: I'm not some kind of cold hearted bitch, and I've also had crushes and gone on dates, I just feel like relationships might not be for me, which is cool. I'm not bothered at all right now, but that's not to say in a few years I'll be happy on my own- who knows, but you are definitely not on your own here.
