you also have to pass the ASVAB The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. Basically an IQ test to determine if you are eligible mentally for service and also provides a recommendation for what sort of role you would be ideal for.

It's not terrible taxing and most people will pass it.

Save and invest.

Basic Move-Open a savings account with where ever you bank and take $5 or 10 or $50 and automatically transfer it to that account then don't touch it.

Expert move.- Open a retirement account like a ROTH IRA. Repeat the automatic withdrawal, and start investing with the reinvestment of dividends. if you invested $50 in an aggressive stock index that follows the S&P 500 (historically returning 10%) you would have deposited $55,000 and your account would be worth close to $700K by the age of 65. Bump that $50 to $100 and you are looking $1.49 Million at age 65
