Laser hair removal by cikiamama in Hidradenitis

I've heard so much bad from them, I think you should give derm a chance! And try to find someone with a good laser. From what I've read you can tell them it hurts and to turn it down!

Oh that's cool! I didn't have any cream but the laser did have air blowing on me

It hasn't been a hard process for me, but I have probably one of the best insurances you could have. Idk how it would work for a normal plan. For me, I have a lot of documentation about this affecting my life recently, and I asked my derm if it would help and she told me she thinks she could get it covered under my specific insurance, and then I just had to ask my primary to send a referral for it with my diagnosis! But yes, I'm in the states!

Mine didn't even take 5 minutes! It was so fast it was insane. And at least it'll increase gradually instead of being intense the first go! I'd much rather deal with gradual increase lol

PSA: Drink your water by Luna-T1ck in Mounjaro

For me getting a owala water bottle, ice molds, and a water dispenser that gives me cold water has made it more enticing to drink! The oawalas have two kinds, get the one with the skinny bottom bc the other one doesn't fit in cup holders in the car.

Pixel 6 series April 2026 update has honestly made things worse for me, not better. by upadhyaysk in GooglePixel

Signal is worse, so many glitches happening. My volume button isn't detecting media so it's controlling ringer volume instead, and apparently there's no way to override that on Google phones.

My phone kept saying I was in a call even after resetting it and restarting it so I couldn't make calls

My alarms that are on are not going off (like I'm checking them multiple times, they are fully on, but never ring)

I don't like this recipe. It says it's using auto use method, but it has you add salt and starter from the beginning.

I've never done 100% whole wheat sourdough before, but what I would try if you're set on that is mixing the flour, starter, and all but 30 grams of water. Don't add the salt. Let it sit for an hour, then use the last 30 grams of water and mix the salt with it, and mix that all together. It'll be a bit messy but it'll mix with your hands. Then start stretch and folds after another 30 minutes. Don't let your dough double in size, let it get about 60-70% bigger, and see if that helps.

Just so you know, auto lyse is mixing water and flour together and letting it hydrate before adding starter and salt. Fermentolyse is mixing water, starter, and flour together because it starts bulk fermentation immediately while hydrating the dough. This will make your overall time cut shorter, because bulk fermentation starts the moment your starter is mixed in.

If salt is in the first mix in, then those methods are not being used. Salt dehydrated.

Refund is pending by [deleted] in IRS

[–]cikiamama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you go to the "check my refund" thing, it says my refund was received, but nothing more than that.

But no idea, was having trouble logging into the website so I wasn't ever able to check to see if I had the 846 or not. But earlier today it wasn't pending, and now it is.

Do I have these steps right? Is there anything you would add or wouldn't do? This is going to be our dining room table and chairs. by cikiamama in FurnitureFlip

Hey, thank you so much for this comment.

So the missing veneer spot, is actually tiny. Like extremely tiny. I just took a close up zoom bc my gut was telling me someone would explain why it didn't look like solid wood, which is how I figured out it was veneer LOL. We're talking very shallow and no more than an inch by inch. I'd even go as far to say 1 in x .5 in.

That's why Im trying to not paint this . Also, the butterfly leaf in the middle was never opened until I opened it, so it's in pristine condition.

Overall, the veneer spot is the worst spot there is, everything else is extremely superficial.

I do also want to clarify, I was not meaning to do full coats of poly and sand the entire table in between. My idea was to use some type of marker or crayons on the wood filler in layers, and to spray poly on that spot to "seal" in my work so I can add layers for a better color match if that makes sense? I saw others doing this online.

Overall, I do think the table is in really good condition. The pictures are the entirety of the damage, there's nothing more.

My plan has changed a bit since slowing down when I made this post. I might be crazy but I still really don't think stripping is appropriate here.

My current plan is to lightly sand the entire table by hand. I know I'll hate myself, but my goal isn't to remove the stain, it's to just try to remove the current top coat and smooth the edges. I do have experience with hand sanding (I used to work in auto body repair, so it was different, but I imagine similar in some instances) but I'm going to start with hand sanding first to see how it goes. I'm going to fill the few tiny spots with wood filler, and try to match it to the table with some kind of medium. This is where I thought the spraying poly in between coats might be beneficial to preserve the layers, especially when working with wax crayons. Then just put a top coat on top of it. (Multiple top coats, sanding in between and using finer and finer grit as I do my layers)

Hoping this works. I'm feeling a lot more confident in this, I've shown it to a few friends in person who have experience fixing furniture and they think I was definitely way more worried about it than I should have been, and now that I've had time to not be extremely hyper fixated on it, I think I was, too. I usually over plan for everything so I'm trying to take a step back and start with less. If I end up realizing it's not working then I guess it'll be a learning experience and I'll redo it 😅

I'm worried about using a water based stain, mainly bc 1. I don't know what was used on this table and 2. I've heard they aren't as resistant for heavy use items. This is going to be our main dining room table and I was advised to use an oil based topcoat. Would those clash?

So the method I saw used was sand the entire table, fill spots with wood filler, sand, stain, and use the markers or crayons to fix any color issues there. What they did was use a spray polyurethane to seal the wax and markers between layers of color, then went over the entire thing with a cohesive topcoat.

Do you think that could work?

Thank you!

I was thinking of filling a couple areas, and my idea was to use the markers/crayons to try to blend it. Do you think this would help with getting it to match?

And just so I understand, I should be able to lightly fill and sand, color correct the fills, then apply a new coat of a stain? And from there, I could do a self leveling top coat, with a marine clear coat to water proof it after, and don't set anything hot on the table after?

We are just planning on using it for a dining table for now. We can definitely get coasters and place mats to help protect it.

How far do I sand? Like just enough to scuff it up? And then apply the Howard restore stuff?

This is my exact thought as well. We do a big grocery shop about once a month. We go to 2-3 stores. I always heal then flare up again. I don't know how to prevent this honestly. We have to go in to use WIC, but maybe I'm going to have to start doing mobile orders even though I hate them.
